Simon Bates CD of the Week competition on CLASSIC fM gives you the chance to win Alfies debut CD (release date 11th September 06)...

It looks like Alfie Boe's time has come. Mind you, he hasn't exactly been messing around since he gave up the day job and started training as a singer.

He took a huge step into the unknown when he left his engineering apprenticeship and began studying at The Royal College of Music. Since then, he's sung with the D'oyly Carte company and won a Tony, Broadway's top theatrical award, for his New York Performance in La Boheme.

To have talent is a great way to kick start a career, but if you don't put in the necessary hard work, talent will only take you so far. Alfie's worked harder than most and success is just around the corner for him. You can hear his story and watch some fantastic footage of Alfie performing in Behind the Music this month.

He also happens to be a lovely bloke, but don't take my word for it. Listen to his magnificent voice on this wonderful new CD.

I know I've just ordered the cd from HMV, but no harm trying to get a free one too Wink
