HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

www.nickgarrett.net is one year old on 20th August!

We'd like to hear from those of you who have registered at the website and post messages on the boards there ( it doesn't matter how frequently)

What do you think about the site layout?
What are your favourite parts of the site?
What/ Who makes you laugh on there?
Special memories on there?

We want to hear all your thoughts on Nick's website, so please take this opportunity to tell us all about it and why you like it, what you would like to see on there etc!

Yes please do let us have your feedback. Amazing how time flies by when you're having fun !!

Our ethos has always been to keep Nick's Garrett's website the way you want to see it and, of course, continue to grow it and make improvements so you all feel 'at home' and part of Nick's ever growing world.

Those of you who already spend time there will know that it's a very special place with an incredible spirit and a life of its own and somewhere that everyone is made to feel 'welcome' by all the members. So if you haven't visited - why not take a look for yourself. NICK WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Do let us know which of you are going to see him perform with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra in Classical in the Park on August 26th. It's going to be a great night with Nick singing some old favourites and some stuff you may not have heard him sing before.

Ok first to answer Xantha's questions;

I love the layout of the site, it is clear and very user friendly. I wasn't much of one for using fansites but Nick's has got me well and truly hooked.

My favourite parts of the site would have to be the Captioning thread, funnies, getting to know the other members and of course the announcements and Nick's postings. It's lovely that he participates so actively on the site and has such a good sense of humour especially when it comes to some of the things we Garrett Girls post about him!

There is a great camaraderie on Nick's site and it doesn't matter if you have been a member from the start or just joined yesterday, everyone is really friendly and get along fantastically. My favourite topics make me laugh but there are also some people whose postings really make me smile and I think are just lovely - Connie,Astrid, Kate, Sariah, Carlene and of course Nick to mention just a few! I have also been lucky to meet quite a few fellow GG's and count Mary, Susan and Sasha as good friends and I hope to meet many more of my "online friends" especially some of those I am in email contact with!

My special memory has to be the first time I met Nick (although the fact that I was rather in awe and somewhat tongue tied I would like to forget!) Kate and I were his guests at the Noir Show for London Fashion week and it was a really special day for us. Nick was such a gentleman, so charming, friendly, attentive and helped put us at our ease. His management team were also wonderful and really looked after us that day.

I have met Nick again since and also his manager Nadia and PA Carlene and they are some of the loveliest people I have ever met. They are all very down to earth and really care about all the people on the site. The whole site is very supportive of its members and you really feel you are part of one big family.

As for the future, we are all looking forward to the release of Nick's first album, which I am sure will be a huge success. I hope that the friendships I've gained through nickgarrett.net will continue for many years to come and that the site will continue to grow. It is a great place to be!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MANY HAPPY RETURNS!

To anyone that hasn't been on, check it out at www.nickgarrett.net

Oh and to answer Nadia's question - I'll be there, in fact I'm doing a report for Classicalx about the evening so it would be great to meet as many fellow GG's as possible! Very Happy

Happy Birthday nickgarrett.net!! Very Happy

The layout of the site is really clear and easy to access. Much less complicated than some other websites and forums I've been on.

My favourite parts are the Captioning thread (as I think is everyones!), the Photo Gallery, Announcements and the Welcomes. The welcoming thread is a brilliant way of getting to know everyone and the captioning thread is just so hilarious! Some of my fellow VIPs should become professional caption writers for newspapers or something! Laughing The announcements of course are great coz we get to find out all that Nick is up to and there are tons of photos of Nick in the Picture Gallery - we can never have too many photos! Wink

Everyone on the website is so great, funny and friendly, but some that stick out are Sasha, Sarah, Charity and Astrid. Everybody is great - if I had to list all the people that made me chuckle I'd be here all day! Smile

Of course my very special memory is the first time I met Nick after winning the Classical X competition! That was so amazing. I still get very excited whenever I tell people about that night. Very Happy Hopefully I may get to meet Nick, Nadia and Carlene (as well as other GGs) if I get to his Congleton concert! x

CONGRATULATIONS to
Nadia, Nick, Carlene, Tom and whoever else has their hands in keeping Nicks world alive for those of us who live there!
...
I was so unfamiliar with forums and found that most of them were rather difficult to 'penetrate' for those not part of the world of 'regulars'. I did not even want to sign up on Nicks site and 'secretly' snooped around for a good while but Nick had gotten a hold of me and I just did not want to miss what wonderful things he would come up with!!! I took the plunge and so began construction of my CYBER RESIDENCE...
My first post was on October 2nd 2005 - - and now I am one of the persons mentioned above by my fellow Garrett World Residents. The layout of the site is what makes it so easy for us all to jump right in. Some will post for the first time and request nervously that we be patient! But after their first post they all feel comfortable - I believe some of those have joined the ranks of CHEEKEY posters by now...what greater testament to our wonderful HQ. We all feel very comfortable with the layout and have and will continue to let HQ know what we want... mostly Nick but of course we do make other demands as well Rolling Eyes
What I like most about Nicks site is his Music - his wonderful voice talking about baths and all sorts of things, his wonderful fans who keep me company and chase some stressful days right out the door with all of their humor, Nick 'talking' to us , us talking to each other as if we all have known one another for a long time, the great collective knowledge on anything you wanted to know and some Useless Knowledge everyone should know, the valuable friendships that have formed and (hopefully) will continue to form, the openess by HQ to all of our suggestions and the personal touch when life is not so kind and you just need a friend to send a supporting word! I love the Images of Nick where those of us who can not personally attend his performances can take part through pictures , Nicks passionate explanations of his work which will draw you in and make you feel part of the story, the stories which us fans sometimes create to pass time! I could keep going in this fashion but will move on what/who makes me laugh...
The captioning thread of course, the posts of some of our Garrett Guys (short and often oh so funny), Nick- as if sitting back, waiting just for the right time to deliver his one liners, Grantie - I believe that this woman could do Standup and make a living off it too (I know Connie will agree), Carlene - our HQ jokster we all love, Connie, Sariah, Gill, Didi , Amy with her fiery passion, Jany, Faramir, Jacquy and so many others. The welcome thread and the wonderful imaginative ways people introduce themselfs. Our Funnies thread!
Special memories from my Cyber Home are when we all 'spread out' to get Nick noticed, we set the record straight in an article in ClassicFM (ClassicJack), we suggested Nick to classicalx (after we found this site we all asked for Nick to be listed) and Nick has his own site on MySpace.com(Sasha) which has brought many new friends to his official website. All through the determination and love of his fans! And one other 'memory' not really part of Nicks Site, was Nicks first exclusive Classicalx interview! My life has not been all that boring but being on the sidelines of this is fabulous!
Thanks for the good times and the memories to come! Great success and the wish that we will do this sort of post again when we reach the 20th anniversary!!
Great work Nick, Nadia and all!!!!

Love Astrid

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WWW.NICKGARRETT.NET

I joined the site on 8-26-05 and have been a regular ever since. It seems like only yesterday when I received that e-mail introducing Nicks website. I remember working through lunch that day and getting acquainted with the site. It was brand spanking new and very easy to follow. Over the year I was very fortunate to win 2 competitions, the first one I won was an autographed photo of Nick and an autographed CD "Horse of the Year Show" which is magnificent to say the least. Then I won the one on one phone conversation with Nick, the conversation is permanently recorded in my memory forever. Nicks voice has attracted the friendliest group of people you would ever want to chat with. We all have excellent taste in music and we are all very supportive of Nick and of each other. I had so many laughs over the year and everyone is unique in their own special way. Although there are two members that stand out... and I like to think of them as sisters, you know who you are. My favourite topic is the welcoming of new members...its so nice to get a warm welcome from the gang up front. I also like the Birthday & Captioning topics. I would also like to add my thanks to Nadia & Carlene for spoiling all of us. They keep us posted on Nicks where a bouts & what he plans to be doing next, they give us about everything we ask for. I'm from the United States and when Nick was performing as Laurent in "Therese Raquin" I wanted to be in one of those seats so bad but too many miles run between us. I asked Nadia if I could get a copy of the programme and within a week after the performance I received an autographed copy. Words can not express how special Nicks website is you have to be a part of it to feel the impact. I'm truly honoured to be an "Inner Sanctum Member".

I have been following Nick's career ever since I first heard him with Amici Forever
and been a member of the Inner Sanctum since he first started his website. He is one of those rare and talented musicians who gives his all to his music and to his fans. We are all an extended family with Nick and would not have it any other way.
He has a wonderful personality, great sense of humor and most of all, he is very unassuming in his attitude towards the adulations he gets from his fans, reviewers,
his site family and his music. He is an excellent pianist, composer, conductor and of
course the finest and top bass/baritone of our era. That is why I named him The Voice Nick Garrett Bass/Baritone top vocalist in his category of this generation. I have heard no one to compare to his rich and smooth as silk powerful bass/baritone anyware., He has no equal with his voice. He is always visiting us on his site and you never know when he may be on at the sametime you are. He has a terrific sense of humor which he must have with the pink Garrett Girls and some of the rest of us who can really get cranked up and have alot of fun with aspiring to
adorn him with fluffy pink rabbit ears, etc. Anything that is pink, these young ladies
would just love to put him in. He takes all this revelry in stride with his own sharp
wit and gentlemanly charm and persoanlity. His management of Nadia, Carlene, Hugh and Tom all strive to be the best team they can be with him and are all also his good friends. His composing of the music EQQUS for The Horse of The Year was
truely a piece of great music and he also conducted the Prague Symphany doing EQUUS. If you have not heard it, you drop by the site and hear it as it is truely a magnificent peice of work. Another thing that is so special about Nick's site is the comraderie of all its members and the friendships that have been made and their care for one another is unwavering. If one member is having difficulties, that person is very lucky to have such an extended family to be there for that member
and help them through any crisis or situation with their love and support which mean so much to me as they have been there for me when I needed their help and
support. Not too many sites are like Nick's when it comes to the support of one another when it is needed. The only other site that I know of that does this also is the Amici Forever site who also look after their fellow members as family and dear friends. It is hard to believe it has been a year as the year has gone by so fast and
the birthday celebration sounds like it is going to be a royal blast from what I have been seeing on Nicks site. I truely wish I could be there, but being in the US I will have to leave to our UK members to make it a party to remember and the start of
many more to come. Like Connie, I'm truely honored to be an "Inner Sanctum Member".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to nickgarrett.net!! It's a fabulous site.

I first found it when it was just in its embryo stages after searching the net following the announcement that Nick was leaving Amici. It was just a one page statement back then so I've watched the site grow from day one. Its informative and fun and I enjoy popping in regularly to keep up with the news and gossip even though I often don't have much time to participate. Nick, Nadia, Carlene and Tom do a great job of making the site so entertaining....with a lot of help from all the Garrett Girls and Guys of course! I'm amazed and amused at how creative some people get sometimes.

My favourite parts are the announcements, Nick's diary, all the off topic funnies which always make me laugh and and of course the captions and the Gallery (especially with those latest picture!!!!!!! Laughing )

And the best bit is that the second year will be better still not least because we get a CD. Keep up the good work everyone. Look forward to seeing you all there.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY nickgarrett.net

I've been a member of it since practically the beginnning. I belong to a few sites but when Nick's came along it seemed to draw me in more and more. I think the best thing about it is that it is not like any other site. It's not even that it's got all the bells and whistles like other sites have but it doesn't matter coz it's got magic and it feels good. It's always always fun to visit and you're never at a loss for something to read or say and you can be 'cheeky' Razz Razz and Nick visits and everyone is always nice without being dull or boring.

The people at HQ are amazing and Nick makes you feel that he knows each and everyone of us as whenever he comes in he says something that tells you he does read and visit and that it isn't just a pretend thing but a real place.

www.nickgarrett.net isn't like anywhere else and that's why it works and is special.

Happy, happy birthday nickgarrett.net and thankyou for a fab year

Here is what one of Nicks VIPs said about nickgarrett.net (amy thought it would be a nice quote and I happen to agree)

"This is the most inventive and amusing site on the web.
It should be bottled and sold along with Nick's CD! "

Thanks mdm, as that is a compliment to all who visit and post on Nicks site

I had expected to read some lovely articles when I started this topic but I never thought it would get such a response. All of the tributes have been very moving and heart felt and I'm sure that Nick and his management team will be very touched to read these.

All of the comments are thoroughly deserved as everyone in Nick's Management team and indeed everyone who posts on the website, do so much to promote Nick but also by doing so, extend a welcoming hand to everyone they come in contact with.

On behalf of everyone at Classicalx, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome yesterday. We enjoyed chatting to you all and getting to know a few more of you. I hope you will all continue in your support of Nick here on Classicalx and the other websites you promote him on. I think the best is still yet to come and I hope we will be able to bring you all the news and interviews when it does.

I will print out all the above messages and send them to Nick's manager as a keepsake of the birthday celebrations. I know a few of you still haven't posted so if you would still like to, please add your tribute in the next few days.
