Charlotte's £100k for Lineker crisp ad
CHARLOTTE Church is packeting £100,000 to star in the latest Walkers crisps TV ad with Gary Lineker.
The Welsh singer will begin filming the commercial with the Match Of The Day host on Thursday at a secret location. Last night a source close to 20-year-old Charlotte, who is worth £6million, revealed: "Charlotte turns down loads of ads and promotions but she loves crisps and likes the ads.
"So why not?"
The ad will have a 1930s feel to it - and the script is believed to be hysterical.
A friend said: "Charlotte thinks the ads are really funny. They are sexy but with humour, which is just the type of woman Charlotte is. She can't wait for filming to begin."
Crazy Chick pop star Charlotte, who dates Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson, has a fondness for crisps which has seen her munching them after a night on the razz.
She follows in the famous footsteps of Victoria Beckham, Danish model Helena Christensen, the Duchess of York, socialite Tara Palmer Tomkinson and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who have all appeared in ads. Victoria first joined Gary, 44, in the commercials in 1997 when she was still a Spice Girl. She signed a £250,000 deal to appear with him again five years later.
Walkers is Britain's biggest-selling crisp, with annual sales topping the HALF-BILLION pound mark. The British crisp firm went from strength to strength after ex-England striker Gary began endorsing the snack in 1995. He has appeared in 40 commercials.
Experts have put much of the brand's success down to the humorous TV ads. |
