Re: Blake at ST James Church AGAIN APRIL 2008
Reply #16 - Today at 18:13:01 ReviewF RAISE THE ROOF
The concert started with a fanfare followed by the Vasari singers all wonderfully performed.
this followed with a reading by Joanna Lumley who looked absolutely fabulous" we were given readings from sir Richard Attenborough and Ronnie Corbet who was well placed in the pulpit.
Blake professionally stole the show with four songs and one which is my favorite "Up where we belong" was performed superbly.
All the entertainers including the audience finished off the evening with a great rendition of "Jerusalem" Blake were conducted by a couple of people in the gallery!!!!
This delightful evening finished to quick (though we ere glad to hear that enough funds had been raised to repair the church roof.) all the celebrities stayed for photographs and autographs and we managed to wish the lads all the best and thank them for a fantastic evening.
I would like to say hi and thanks to Blake , Mark Williams, Jodie, Mary, Lyn and Angela and I am sure we will all meet up again soon. |
