Hey there fellow G4 fans,

it's been a hard time since the very sad break up of G4 this summer, and I felt so depressed that British people no longer had a male classical group to call their own. Don't get me wrong, I love Il Divo, amazing voices and beautiful songs, but not being British, I just couldn't feel they were ours.

This winter we were given BLAKE by Universal Records, and my sense of British pride has been renewed. 4 lovely looking, gentlemanly and talented UK singers, with an album of stunning eclectic songs - I'm so happy again!!

I know that we all fell in love with the amazing story of G4, 4 students from Guildhall, forming for X-Factor, and taking the world by storm. Poor little BLAKE don't have a Simon Cowell TV show to launch them, but my goodness they work hard to bring us their music! Smile In the last 6 months, they formed on Facebook, found a manager, received a record contract from Universal, recorded a stunning album, toured to over 35 UK cities to sing live on local radio stations, performed on 15 TV shows, sold over 100,000 albums (being one of only 8 acts to go GOLD this year) and stayed at the top of the UK classical charts for 6 weeks. Amazing!!!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really really proud of this home-grown group of singers, they don't boast, they don't use any gimmicks, they just work hard and take care of their fans - if you join their facebook group you'll see what I mean, they reply to all their messages from fans, who does that these days?? Such English gentlemen are rare.

I'm behind these guys, and will support them all the way to their next album, and then the next. These guys are what British music is all about, working hard and being their for those that support you.

Well done to BLAKE for taking up the batton from G4 - there can never be enough brilliant british crossover groups in the world! Wink

Take care everyone, and merry Christmas

Maybe Blake didn't get a 'jump start' on a Simon Cowell show, but G4 didn't really get that much out of it either, as the record company really didn't know what to do with them as their style (crossover) was a bit new to them and the market wasn't really known then for that kind of music Confused Confused

Jon, Ben, Mike and Matt, all such lovely 'down to earth' and caring guys, worked their socks off and got their fanbase through their wonderful harmonies and it was the hard work of the fanbase that kept them there for the 3 years that they had Very Happy Very Happy

The guys are missed Sad , but the solo careers (3 of them anyway) are being followed through their MySpace pages and the guys keep us updated about what they are up to these days, which is nice of them to take time to do

Jonathan will have his debut album out in February and hopefully Mike will get someone interested in his songwriting and recording of his own songs, Ben is out and about doing solo spots and recitals around the country. It's just Matt we have all lost touch with, but whatever he is doing I hope he is happy and maybe someday he will get in touch with us all

The success from X-factor was a real surprise to them and they have now gone back to what they would have been doing otherwise, but they have stated that they have enjoyed their 3 years of touring etc and I'm sure I speak for all of the fans when I say it was a pleasure to follow them around the country at various events and getting to know other fans and forming friendships which are still ongoing

Well done to G4 for paving the way and well done to Blake for continuing it Very Happy

Being a fan of both G4 and missing them madly I am really pleased that Blake have found their footing in the music industry and having heard them as well as being a fan of them they are different from G4 but are also great.

Give them the credit they deserve they are worth it.
