Hi all,
Italo – Canadian Giorgia Fumanti to Perform with
The 12 Girls Band from China
(Montreal, August 20, 2007) – Giorgia Fumanti will accompany the 12 Girls Band for a 21 concert tour across Japan. Giorgia Fumanti performed with the 12 Girls Band in Beijing last June and the chemistry was so magical that they invited her to join their Japanese tour as a special guest.
The tour kicks off in Mie on August 25th and ends in Hiroshima on September 23rd. In between, they will perform in Shiga, Osaka, Shizuoka, Aichi, Fukuoka, Kagashima, Kyoto, Okayama, Nagano, Nigata, Yamanashi, Tokyo (3 concerts), Ehime and Kochi. (For more details on the tour, please visit the web sites listed below).
The 12 Girls Band is a music group from China using traditional Chinese instruments to play both Chinese Traditional and Western songs. The group debuted their tour in China and Japan during the summer of 2003. Word of mouth spread, show after show were sold-out, and in Japan their debut album topped the charts for 30 weeks. They have become very popular in Japan holding the highest sales numbers of any Chinese musical artist ever.
Guests of this concert are in for a magical evening full of breathtaking music and sensational vocals by Giorgia Fumanti.
Giorgia Fumanti recently released her EMI Music debut album “From My Heart”. Her vocal originality reigns supreme in her compelling interpretations of composers, from Bach to Sting to Ennio Morricone. Singing with the clarity and grace reminiscent of her Tuscan homeland, Giorgia Fumanti has won fans and admirers across Europe, Asia, Africa and North America with her remarkable voice and mesmerizing live performances.
It is of no surprise that José Carreras, one of the world’s greatest tenors, invited Giorgia Fumanti to join him on tour in Asia this past winter and again at the Hampton Court Music Festival in June, and that world acclaimed classical pianist, Lang Lang, also invited Giorgia Fumanti to join him at his Lake Las Vegas concert this past June.
The singer’s manager Maurice Velenosi is not astonished at the enthusiasm stirred up by Giorgia. “As soon as you hear Giorgia, you are immediately transported, not only by the sheer beauty of her voice, but mostly by the emotional charge it conveys...”
