yes i know many have more than one best of, but the majority of the time it's a last cd, like a goodbye and thankyou.
So i am hoping Russell is one of those that carries on.
It's just with a 5 album decca deal and the 5th album is a best of it does look quite worrying for the fans.
Anyways I'm gonna see what Russell has to say on Des and Mel, about it.

I wonder what the 'Essential collection' will include?
It may be a way the new management plan to start promoting him, by having an album of the best songs from every other album to date - to reintroduce him in their style afterwards - instead of an end it could be a new beginning. Very Happy it depends how they approach it. A fresh start could be on the cards - who knows Smile

I don't think we should overestimate the fact of a Best Of CD. In know there are artists who publish a best of as their last CD but - it's been said before - it is not ununsual to publish several best ofs over the years, e.g. at the end of a "musical chapter". And hey, it's not even called Best Of... Smile

I actually think it's all about money. Why do you think they put two unreleased songs on it - IMO that's just to "force" customers to buy it because they can't get this songs anywhere else. So they can earn money with a whole CD without the need to record a whole new album - very clever, I'd say. And they wouldn't put new songs on it if it was his last CD, I'm quite sure. Very Happy
