Aled sings O Come, O Come Emmanuel in St Asaph Cathedral where local choirs gather for a feast of Advent music.
* The Choir - BBC radio 3 6.30 - 8.00: Mozart died leaving his Requiem unfinished but many musicians have tried their hand at completing it. Having begun their Advent journey at a maternity hospital named after Jesus' mother, Carrie and David Grant finish the series at an infant school named after his father: St Joseph's, Camberwell, in London, where they arrive just in time for the Nativity play.
Later they meet Richard Taylor, whose determination to bring
something positive out of the dreadful murder of his own 10-year old son Damilola, just down the road from Camberwell, in Peckham, has led him to establish an educational charity. He is joined by Sir Trevor Macdonald and by England and Manchester United football star Rio Ferdinand, who have both lent their support to the charity and its aims.
Moya Brennan, the former voice of Clannad, sings a haunting version of In The Bleak Midwinter and explains how her Christian faith has led her to work with the Christian Blind Mission in South America.
While actor Greg Wise reads the biblical Nativity story during a cinematic taxi journey across London, Lucy Winkett finishes her Holy Land pilgrimage in Bethlehem, where she finds inspiration, not so much in the Church of the Nativity, but amongst a group of disabled children and a 21st century Mary who has opened her heart and home to them, at a project run by the UK charity Bible Lands.

Thanks Xbons. Smile Even with out the panto and birmingham dates, he's still a very busy boy! At least the SoP programmes are pre-recorded, so that lightens the load slightly! x

Well, if we are honest, Lyndsey, most of it is pre-recorded - only GMS Christmas Eve is live and then GMS New Years Eve, all the rest is pre-recorded. But it all has to be prepared, worked on and recorded sometime, of course. I just hope he can make GMS this coming Sunday. All this week he has been presenting "Performance on 3" every night at 7.30pm on radio 3 also, I just found out too late to add in here, but they are all available on listen again for a week. It has been a week of Christmas Choral classics - see radio 3 website for further info.

I find it interesting to see how many other classicalx artists appear on the programmes Aled is presenting, also!

Fantastic to hear Aled on GMS this morning!! He sounds alot more cheerful and says he's getting better!! Hooray!! I hope he continues to heal fast!! Sounds like he will be able to enjoy a fantastic Christmas!!
I agree Xbons - he does have a lot of other ClassicalX artists on his show!! He always seems so great at appreciating others and giving them air time / putting them in the public eye! He is certainly not one to blow his own trumpet!! Amazing guy!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing Aled on SoP tonight!

Might go and have a listen to some of those performances on Radio 3 especially the Messiah one as I sang parts of it at uni this tern and Aled then played some of it this morning on GMS so I've got it in my head now! It was so good to hear Aled back on GMS this morning and he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself which was great. Very Happy

Welcome back Sian!

The latest news on GMS on Christmas Eve, I think, was that Aled now has a moonboot (presumably rather than the plaster) but I assume that means he is a bit more mobile. He certainly sounded cheerier also. I don't think he fell down the chimney on Christmas Eve, either, so he didn't make the problem worse then.. Laughing Laughing

Other than that - no, we can but hope he will post on the forum again soon. Also he is meant to be sitting in for Sarah Kennedy for 2 weeks on Dawn Patrol on radio 2 (6.00. - 7.30) from Jan 2nd, so we will presumably get info then (and I have to do the January appearance listings, including those.....! Sad )

But he sounds as if matters are improving Very Happy
