Thank you for putting that up, xcept - I had sent it through as a news item, but this way you get to see the photo too (not that it is a very good photo! - but it shows the Jack costume that should have been)
I will try and find out from management if Aled made it to St Georges. His wound really does sound serious, especially the DVT - not good for anyone, let alone someone as active as Aled. I bet he is not the easiest of patients, either....! |

Well, life is sometimes puzzling.
Steve, Aled's manager, told me today that Aled did not make the carol concert as he was back in hospital. However, Hello magazine:
http://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/2006/12/20/camilla-carols/
states:
"It seems poise and composure at a young age runs in the family for
Aled Jones and his children.
Aled, who made a name for himself as a boy soprano with the ever-
popular Christmas song Walking In The Air, watched with pride as his
four-year-old daughter presented the Duchess of Cornwall with a posy
of flowers at a carol concert.
Carefully dressed for the occasion in a pretty pink dress tied with a
sash, Emilia Jones impressed onlookers with her self-assured
performance as she greeted Camilla. And the Duchess, elegant in an
emerald green satin jacket and black wrap, was also clearly
impressed, chatting away to the youngster after accepting the bunch
of pink blooms from her."
and has a back view picture of Emilia presenting the posy to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
If Aled's injury wasn't so serious, I would joke with "He was behind her" etc - but - who knows? Maybe Claire took Emilia and Aled was indeed in hospital and the reporter elaborated the story. Or maybe Aled sneaked out of hospital to attend (quite likely, knowing him!) and didn't tell Steve! |

It does seem rather puzzling but if Aled was meant to be in hospital, I hope he stayed there for his own sake. He really does seem to be in a bad way at the moment - just hope things start to settle down so that he can enjoy Christmas, his birthday and new year as much as possible. |

Hi Val,
Nice to hear from you again.
Aled presented Good Morning Sunday on Christmas Eve, and Good Morning Christmas on Christmas morning (he has missed the December 17th programme). He sounded much chirpier, and said he is now in a moon-boot instead of the plaster. The DVT is also better. Both programmes are available on listen again (mind you GMS Christmas Eve is only there until tomorrow morning!) And he should be on tomorrow morning.
But he has had to pull out of the panto, probably for the whole run, and certainly spent a few days in and out of A&E at Kingston hospital.
The main trouble is that for someone like Aled, enforced rest like this is not his cup of tea! (or indeed his glass of wine!) |

Hi Val,
Further news - Aled said on Dawn Patrol this morning that he is in the moon-boot for 6 - 8 weeks more, will then need intensive physiotherapy. And is still taking pills for the DVT.
But he sounded chirpy as ever (considering he had been up since 4.00 am! )

| Thanks xbons. So pleased to hear that Aled is on the mend. He had a tough end to 2006 just like Russell. Let's hope 2007 will be a lot healthier for them both. |
