I was lucky enough to be able to go to this event with two other Classicalx and Nick Garrett forum members. It was a great evening and we were lucky enough to meet with Hayley before and after the competition and she happily signed autographs and posed for photos with us.

The singing was of a very high standard and all competitors were amazing, especially considering their ages. I won't spoil it by telling you who won, but my friends and I did pick the same winners so were quite pleased at the outcome.

Also on the judging panel was Jonathon Ansell from G4 but we didn't get chance to talk to him or fellow judge David Grant. Hayley more than made up for it though and chatted to us for quite a while. I told her I had once written a review of her on here when she performed with the Skelmanthorpe Brass Band, she was impressed and said she would check it out.

We also got to speak to Steve Abbott (Hayley and Aled's Manager) and actually have to thank him for giving us the tickets as ours hadn't arrived in the post. We were waiting outside Westminster Abbey on the off chance we could get some more and he came up as we were speaking to members of Hayley's website and gave them to us....so thank you, Steve!

If you can, try and listen to the competition on Radio2, as it really was a wonderful programme. The acoustics in the Abbey were incredible and the setting gave it such a wonderful atmosphere.
