Alfie Boe album

Thank you Penny and rainy for your reviews. I think I may well get it. I know I shall end up comparing with Russell..but it will be interesting to see how Alfie's voice develops as well. Very Happy

It IS a good album val. I did enjoy it and Alfie has a fantastic voice (and personality too from what ive seen on tv and youtube clips)He's just a bit too operatic for my liking. Laughing

I've not heard the whole album yet, but I've seen him on Classic FM tv and heard some other tracks on the radio.... and I'm not completely sure what I think....
On a couple of them, especially Una Furtiva Lagrima - he really does show a superb voice and a lovely rendition of the piece.. but mostly I find myself feeling that there is a certain something missing - apologies to Russell fans but I find that with him too on a lot of occasions..
It's not that all the technical boxes aren't being ticked, they are, no duff notes, not too much vibrato etc... it's just that certain something that turns a good voice into a great voice... perhaps it will come in time, I hope so, because he's worked really hard and has great potential - but for me at the moment it just isn't there. Confused
