I would dearly love to know what song they could perform, probably the obvious one would be "The Prayer", but personally I don't think it should be that. As much as I adored Anthony Callea's version of it on Australian Idol series 2- and I love Anthony as a performer, I still really deep down inside prefer it as a duet. My favorite version is Josh and Charlotte. The first time ever I saw Josh Groban- winter olympics Salt Lake performing it with Charlotte and have been in love with him ever since.

Anyway back to It Takes Two

David has years and years of Opera behind him, plus he is very versatile in a number of genres, including rock. He did take Erika to meet with some of his Opera buddies, including Anthony Warlow and Suzanne Johnston ( he is coming up in an Opera production soon with both of them) and she said they gave her incredible advice.

Guess we have to wait till Sunday evening, my goodness this show has just flown by, probably because I have really really been enjoying it.

It is wonderful that two of my fave couples are into the final three.

Sarah who is partnered with Guy Sebastian, will be performing his first hit single from Australian Idol series one-"Angels Bought Me Here".

Now, Rachael who is partnered with Mark (who is in Home and Away here) has been in many musicals over the years, so I am guessing she will choose something from perhaps one of those productions. I actually have a better feeling about the partnership with her and Mark. I look forward to seeing them perform each Sunday night. Not that I don't with Erika and David, I love them to bits, it is just something else with the other two. There is quite an age difference as Mark is just 20 and I think Rach might be in her early 30's, but the connection in performing together is there, there is a chemistry. Rach is a happily married woman, she often stars in productions along with her husband Ian Stenlake ( another very versatile performer).

I agree, I also prefer the duet version. I think there's something missing when there's only one person singing it. And: I also love Josh's and Charlotte's rendition of that song. It was played during my wedding ceremony, so I have wonderful memories connected to it. Smile

David Hobson is his name.

I am actually really sad that this series is almost over, I truly hope they have another one. One more elimination and then it is the Big One next week, where we shall find out the winner of Series one.

Anyway I love the forum and all the other features on the ITT site.

Our Aussie Idol series 4 begins on August 6- all the auditions and the like, apparently aspiring contestants if they play an instrument, it is allowed this year.
Even better in my thoughts- I am just thinking back to Popstars- which was pretty much a failure on our tv here in Australia, but the winner had a gorgeous voice and he played guitar as well. He is still to release an album and that show finished a couple of years back. The best contestant they ever had and that happens. Meaning I enjoy singer/songwriters who play instruments also.

here is a biography on Rachael Beck, I have seen her in a few musicals, namely Beauty and the Beast- yep this lucky gal was starring in it alongside Hugh Jackman. Omg that is where I fell in love with Hugh. Also I have seen Rach in Singin In The Rain.

This is my favourite show at the moment. After Erika met some David's opera buddies, didn't she perform so well last week. I'd love to see her develop her singing. I love Mark and Rachel too. Did you see where David broke one of the microphones - reminded me of Russell breaking two during JTTOU.

I love Erika and David, so glad that they are into the final. Con Te Partiro was just stunning, I held my breath listening to that, there was no way on earth I wanted to miss out on seeing how she tackled David's genre of Opera.

I was however really sad to see Mark and Rachael go last night, been a fan of Rach's since I saw her in Beauty and the Beast all those years ago, and I am a regular Home and Away watcher, so I know Mark well from that. They were a great couple, loved them too.

Was it just me, Trish or did you hear how pitchy Sarah was last night, on Guy's song Angels Bought Me Here? I am not sure how they made it to the final, but they did.

I was thrilled at Erika and David's performance. Con te Partiro was exquisite and two 10's and two 9's - how good was that. Now I need to go and vote !!

I was sad to see Mark and Rachel go too - for me, it was between them and David & Erika.

I did notice how pitchy Sarah was - it was difficult for her to sing Angels Brought Me Here. She's such a lovely and very talented Australian.

Oh yes I agree Sarah is a lovely girl and she was a wonderful swimmer for Australia.

But singing ???? Nevertheless I admire her enormously.

If they had another series, I would love to see another opera performer on- what about Anthony Warlow, he is just fabulous also. His performance in Phantom of the Opera- sublime. Very Happy I also went to the Main Event Concert years back, with he, John Farnham and Olivia Newton- John. Ooh which reminds me, I have the Cd, but not the DVD of that.

One of the best concerts ever, apart from ID and Patrizio's Very Happy

Hi Yvonne

I'm sure there'll be another series next year because this one has been so popular. I'd love to see Anthony Warlow next year too - he's a beautiful performer.

I saw The Main Event on TV, but live would have been fantastic.

We're getting some top overseas artists here now, and I'd love to see Il Divo as long as it's in a theatre. Patrizio's concert - that was some night !! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Oh Trish, glad you are here again, I have just posted a new topic- about the Socceroos v Kuwait match on Aug 16- Daniel Belle has been invited to perform the national anthem again before this match. I am guessing it will be on tv. Just off to the ID board now to tell all the soccerlovers about it.

It was so good to see Erika and David win the first series. I just adored them singing "Without You", by Nilsson, which is surely one of my most favorite and adored songs ever.

Congrats David and Erika. Well done on a superb job. Cannot wait for the next series now, hopefully they will have great singers on and great celebs. I got so into it and then it was all over. I looked forward to each Sunday evening at 6.30pm.
