Batlle Proms selling well

TICKETS are selling fast for this year's Battle Abbey Proms event.Van Morrison will be bringing an evening of jazz, blues and soul to Battle Abbey on Saturday, August 26, while the next day the Abbey welcomes multiple platinum selling tenor Russell Watson for a guest appearance in the Last Night of the Battle Abbey Proms.
A magnificent fireworks display concludes both concerts, along with a spectacular choreographed spitfire display.
This year the popular proms event is being held as part of the English Heritage 2006 Music on a Summer Evening concert series.
Other concerts are being held at Kenwood, Hampstead, Audley End, Saffron Walden and Marble Hill in Twickenham as part of the Music on a Summer Evening series.
Tracey Wahdan, visitor operations director for English Heritage in the south east, said: "We are really pleased that Battle Abbey has the chance to host two of these popular concerts.
"This is an exciting time for the site as we look forward to opening the new visitor facilities later in the year.
"I hope that as many local people as possible will come along to enjoy the entertainment".
And for those who would like to take some food to the event but don't fancy lugging along a heavy picnic, Your M&S has made it easy with a pre-order online service.
Picnics can be ordered online to be picked up on arrival the evening of the concert.
