Well, what an evening! Razz Razz it has to have been one of the best. 40 Forum / fanclub members in the front 2 rows, each wearing a large badge saying "Aled Rocks!", lots of noise, cheering, yoo hooing, three choirs, 2 organ pieces and 8 Aled songs, including a standing ovation for "You Raise Me Up" + an encore of the traditional "How Great Thou Art" - and then, in spite of a minimum 2 hour drive to Manchester (he apparently arrived at 1.30 to find the hotel did not have a room for him!) a good 15 minutes or so talking to us all afterwards. Lots of acknowledgement of us all in the front rows ("take no notice of my forum, they are rather noisy!" + a number of claps and smiles in our direction) Laughing Laughing Laughing

A full report will follow, but I am not sure when (I am still in Bristol). We are still laughing at much of what went on at the moment - lots of Aled repartee, and the typical mixture of serious and fun. What the rest of the audience made of it and of us...who knows?! But a great evening, topped off by Aled sparing time to speak with us all. Very Happy Very Happy

And on Good Morning Sunday this morning, he was as bright and chirpy as ever, in spite of having had so little sleep - assuming he found a hotel for the 3 hours before his alarm at 5.00.am!

It was an absolutely fantastic evening as xbons has said. Very Happy You Raise Me Up was just amazing and sent a shiver of goodness down my spine. He really was on top form both in terms of singing and the banter/repartee so it truly was a memorable evening. The fact that he was able to speak to us afterwards was just the icing on the cake Very Happy

I'm off to the Chester recording for Songs of Praise a bit later, as it's only 20mins from my home - perhaps if I get a chance I'll ask him about the hotel incident!!

Hi, just got home! As Brina said, "You Raise me Up is such a classic Aled song and he sings it so intensively - it does indeed send shivers down the spine. Anne Marie, next to me had tears pouring down her face, mascara smudging away! And after the standing ovation, in the typical Aled way, he looked behind himself and said "I'm just looking for the other Westlife members...!" Laughing Laughing

Did you see him at Chester Brina? - twice in 2 days is a bit excessive isn't it? (lucky girl!)

RE "You Raise me Up", Kerry, it was disussed afterwards as it went down so well and Aled actually said he perhaps ought to sing it more often, so here's hoping he puts it back in his regular repertoire. It is one of the most special Aled songs.

Right, cup of tea time!

Yes I did see him at Chester on the Sunday - and he did say he would sing You Raise Me Up more regularly (due to the large number of emails he had received after Saturday's concert!) so that is brilliant. Very Happy

It's amazing what fan pressure can do! Very Happy

Did Aled say where he slept the rest of Saturday night? - in the car, in a bath under a hedge?! Razz Razz
