That new show is coming on here in Oz- on Sunday week- It Takes Two

The celeb paired with a professional singer. I just saw the list of some of the singers performing and some of the celebs.

The singers include Guy Sebastian (winner Idol one)
Paulini ( also from Idol one, I like her), Jade McRae(not sure who she is), Karen Knowles ( she was on YTT years and years ago), tenor David Hobson ( I like him too), Wendy Matthews, Glenn Shorrock and Troy Cassar- Daly.

They will coach and sing alongside celebs such as Home and Away's Kate Ritchie(Sally in Home and Away), Judy Nunn(actress and author) and Mark Furze(Ric in Home and Away), Kate Fischer, Erika Heynatz(model) and Michael Bevan(Aussie cricketer) ( just some of the names mentioned)

Ooh I hope Wendy does her lovely song "The Day You Went Away" with her partner.

This is from the Herald Sun- Melbourne this morning.

Should be an interesting show, I think. It is going to be on Channel 7 on Sunday evenings.

Well I know who I would personally like to win the show- even before it begins- it would be tenor David Hobson, who is very well known here in Australia. Here is his site for you to have a look at him and what he has done during his career.

We had our first episode aired last Sunday evening.

The pairings are

Paulini (Aussie Idol finalist from series one) and Simon Reeve ( a newsreader from Channel 7-Australia- Sunrise program)

Jade McRae (Rnb singer) and Michael Bevan (Aussie cricketer, who now plays for Tasmania)

Wendy Matthews ( singer) and Richard Champion (ex Australian rules footballer)

Dave Gleeson (rocker) and Katie Fischer (model)

Troy Cassar- Daly (country singer) and Kate Ritchie ( actress from Home and Away, she plays the role of Sally).

David Hobson (opera singer) and Erika Heynatz (model).

Karen Knowles ( singer, now producer) and Richard Zachariah (Journalist)

Guy Sebastian ( Aussie Idol winner series one) and Sarah Ryan (retired Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimming champ)

Rachael Beck (musical theatre, cabaret performer and actress) and Mark Furze (Ric Dalby on Home and Away)

Glenn Shorrock (lead singer of Little River Band) and Judy Nunn (actress of tv and stage and also an author).

eliminations begin on next Sunday evenings show.

So I shall keep you updated.

Just for the record- I didn't personally enjoy Katie and Dave or Richard and Karen, feel that either of those two pairings may be on shaky ground come elimination time.

Yvonne, I really enjoyed the show last Sunday.

My favourites so far are : Wendy and Richard, David and Erika, and Paulini and Simon. Of course, that could change over the next couple of weeks.

I didn't enjoy Katie and Dave or Richard and Karen either.

Isn't Marina Pryor a lovely lady. She was so kind and encouraging with her comments.

I taped the show and am going to watch it again because I'm not sure who I'm going to be voting for.

I think people on here should know more about David Hobson, he is fantastic. I agree with you about Marina, she is lovely and I have loved her ever since I saw her in Phantom of The Opera as Christine.

Six couples left now on It Takes Two.

I am still loving David Hobson and Erika. You should hear me everytime they are announced as being safe for the next week.

The others left are

Mark Furze (Ric from Home and Away, Aussie series) and Rachael Beck (musical theatre star here in Oz)- soon to star in The Pyjama Game, alongside her husband- also a theatre star, Ian Stenlake.

Sarah Ryan (Olympic swimmer, now retired) and Guy Sebastian (Winner of Australian Idol series one).

Simon Reeve(news presenter on Sunrise) and Paulini ( another contestant on Aus Idol series one- fourth place getter)

Kate Ritchie (Sally on Home and Away, Aussie series) and Troy Cassar- Daly (country music star here in Australia)

Richard Champion (ex Australian Rules footballer for Brisbane Lions) and Wendy Matthews (recording artist, originally from Canada, has called Australia home now for many, many years).

five couples left now.

Erika and David- I think they are fantastic.

Mark and Rachael- second faves

Kate and Troy

Richard and Wendy

Sarah and Guy

( personally I didn't enjoy S and G singing Elton John's "Your Song"), that could possibly be their downfall. It seems to be for a lot of other contestants that choose to sing it in reality shows.

I had no idea who would leave on Sunday night, really, but it turned out to be Richard and Wendy.

My three fave couples are still in, we will have to see what happens now.

Three couples left now

Sarah Ryan and Guy Sebastian
Erika Heynatz and David Hobson
Mark Furze and Rachael Beck

interesting Erika is going to have to perform something in David's genre of music next week, which is opera.

Guy is mainly an RNB singer

and Rachael is musical theatre, cabaret.

Shocked Uh, do you think she will be able to do that ok? I mean, opera's not that easy. Definitely harder than R'n'B and and probably harder than musical theatre as well. Rolling Eyes
