It sounds like everyone who went had a fantastic time - love the photos too! I just saw Amy Nuttall in My Fair Lady this week in Bradford. She really has an amazing voice and gave a wonderful performance.

Amy was lovely at Classic response also, Grantie, and came across as having no airs and graces at all! She was the only one to not wear a long dress, if you look at the photos, you can see she had a simple but very attractive black dress, and the group I was with, we all agreed she had won the dress of the evening award! (others will probably disagree.....) Smile We thoroughly enjoyed her singing also.

Yeah she is a lovely person Bonita. I've met her before when she was acting in Emmerdale and she is very friendly and down to earth. Glad you had a good time at the Concert....is anyone going to do a review of the evening for all of us who weren't able to go? Very Happy

I'm going to do one for the Aled Jones fanclub, and can adapt it for here if Xboss or Xcept want me to (ie make it more general). It you look in the miscellaneous reviews you will see the one I wrote on the concert last year, and adapted slightly for here. or I can send you the one I will do privately if it is not wanted here.

There are a couple of problems in doing a general one- 1) obviously it is about a lot of people and everyone is likely to think their favourite has been given short shrift! - which is not the intention at all. And 2) the programme on sale was really only write ups about the artists and pictures, not a programme of what was sung / played at all, so the actual pieces are not always named (indeed rarely!) I was making notes but still could not tell you what was actually played etc. unless the presenters announced it clearly (I was up in the circle) - and they didn't always, I don't think. And there are no programme notes to refer to that I know of.

Agree on the shoes for the Choirboys, rainy - we were up in the Circle but could see how odd it looked from there. And the stage lighting picked out the whiteness of the shoes. It does seem to me that if you are going to wear suits you may as well follow the look through properly! Confused

At their age it may have been a diplomatic wardrobe compromise situation, 'we'll wear the suits if we can wear our trainers' Wink Laughing

True, but I think you will find that they do usually wear "proper" shoes! And it really did look odd (you can see it in the photos anyway)

Hi Michael,

Glad you enjoyed classic response - I did also! Your ratings were interesting - but no Aled or Myleene, although they performed as well as presenting?! As Aled still considers himself very much a singer, he would be most upset to get 0 out of 10! And I was impressd with Myleene's piano playing also.

Re the presenting. Aled has presented for years, almost as long as he has been singing (ie coming up to 20 years), is now doing Good Morning Sunday and Friday Night is Music Night on radio 2, and other programmes on radios 3 and radio Wales, Songs of Praise, Proms in the Park etc etc. Myleene is a relative newcomer, I think, so is maybe not so sure of herself. I thought they interacted together quite well, personally.

(by the way, it is N Spence not J - Nicky is his name! I thought he was hilarious!)
