I think what I can say about both fo these albums is in the favourite album discussion. So I just put bullet points here:
* Both lack emotion
* Pure has some stand out tracks on it
* Pure has a weaker vocal performance
* Odyssey showcases Hayleys growth in vocal abilities
* Odyssey washes over like a blur; no song stands out
* Odyssey is boring
* Pure has a greater range of songs, some that he hadn't heard before
* Odyssey is highly classical, Hayleys vocals are not good enough for this
* Odyssey has a predictable tracklisting. Aimed at a particular audience
* Pure has material that everyone can pick out and enjoy.
That's it in a nut shell. If you want me to explain any of my points, just ask. _________________ Comprehensive Buying Guide: Sarah Brightman's Discography |

For my tastes, I cannot fault Pure but Odyssey lacks the variety of material and the result is just a little bit bland. It's pleasant enough and Hayley's voice is wonderful but it really needs something to liven it up a bit. The NZ version is better but the poppier tracks were deliberately omited for the UK release. I think that was a mistake although I accept it was done for a reason - to enable it to qualify for the UK Classical Charts.

Odyssey - Perfect!
Pure - Perfect!
Hayley makes the selections of songs she sings and chooses the ones she can most relate to....
She puts her heart and soul into everything she sings.
If it's good enough for Hayley, it's most definatly good enough for me!! |

Hayley's vocals on Odyssey are better than Pure, but I would agree that there aren't any songs that stick out on Odyssey. Pure also has a greater range of styles.
On some songs Hayley does lack emotion, though the songs on Odyssey are harder.
Both albums do, however, show Hayley's talent and I love all the songs she sings! |

Hi Ellie,
A number of people have said elsewhere that the emotion in Hayley's voice comes across better live than it does on a recording. I think there may be something in that.
It will be very interesting to see what she includes on her next album. Unfortunately, that may be some way off yet.

| Yep, it would be good if they recorded the songs for her albums from live performances, though some people are annoyed by the clapping. Maybe they could just sorta ask the audience not to clap until the very end? |
