Hayley is an amazing artist who has achieved so much and is still only 18 years old. We would love to know when or how you first heard her sing. Very Happy

I first heard Hayley on a Russell Watson live in New Zealand dvd, and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Her voice is amazing! I bought her album the next day. Very Happy

I'll have to say the same as everybody else. I first heard Hayley on the NZ DVD of Russell's and thought, she's a year younger than me and has so much talent, and has achieved so much in her life. She's amazing! When I heard that she had released Pure, her first album it was a must have, and I've been a fan ever since!

Same here Alex. I saw her at a concert. Think it was Wembley with Russell. I thought she had an amazing voice. I saw her again in THE Big Sing at RAH, and have bought her first CD. Dave plays it a lot in his car., alternating with Katherine Jenkins and Russell. (Of course!) Very Happy Very Happy

Very Happy That's the same time for me too, on the New Zealand DVD.
The second time, Hayley was guest artist at Russells first Syndey Opera House Concert. She is just as good live, and she sat with Russell after the concert and signed autographs

I found out about Hayley before 'Pure'. A friend of mine (the webmaster of 'Hayleys World' no less, but that site is now closed) knew of her and sent me a promo CD (You couldn't buy cds of hers at the time unless you went to a NZ online shop). He told me she was releasing an international album soon so I waited on that. I did manage to get hold of 'Gift To You' and 'Hayley Westenra' before it came out with great difficulty. 'Pure' was released, she was a massive success and she was suddenly very accessible!

I also got to meet her just after Pure was released at a television appearence (Keith and Simon from HWI were there also). She was very kind and generous. She gave the flowers she was given at the end of the show to Simons wife (I think she was overwhelmed).

I wasn't overly amazed by Hayleys first albums. I only half heartidly bought 'Pure'. Hayleys first albums, though her voice was very sweet, had a very boring tracklisting with some very odd arrangements. 'Pure' was excellent though and that's when I started to follow her career properly. 'Oddysey' has brought this following down a bit as in my humble opinion, has gone back to the boring and odd tracklisting. Still, I very much like Hayley, she is a wonderful person and I am still following her career with great interest.

Mine is quite different to others, a cousin bought my grandmother a copy of Pure for Christmas(not the one just gone, the one before that), and also my brother had a copy he bought just before that particular Christmas. So I had plenty of opportunity to hear it and I just loved what I was hearing. I do not have Odyssey as yet, but I want to.

Definitely not from Russell's DVD ( cos I am not a fan of his, not meaning anything awful, other than I have not warmed to him)
