Sian and Russell hit the right note Sunday March 5, 10:25 PM

Actress Sian Reeves and singer Russell Watson triumphed in the celebrity singing show - Just the Two of Us.

Performing a range of hit songs the duo were voted winners by the public and also earned praise from the judges for the first time in the series.

Pop star Lulu paid tribute to Reeves saying: "you are an absolute revelation tonight,"

Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson agreed: "You have brought total drama to tonight's performance and have just gotten better and better."

They each win £10,000 for charity, Watson's funds will be donated to The Kirsty Appeal which raises money for the Francis House Children's Hospice in Didsbury, Manchester, while Reeves' money will head to Promise Dreams, a charity based in Wolverhampton which helps terminally ill children and their families.

The pair defeated their rivals Mark Moraghan and Natasha Hamilton in the final after a rousing rendition of Great Balls Of Fire, Annie's Song and the rock classic I Would Do Anything For Love.

Reeves and Watson started their preparations for the BBC show just 10 days before the programme went live on air, because Sian's first partner 80s heart-throb Rick Astley dropped out.

Throughout the show viewers have voted in their millions whittling down the eight singing celebrity couples to just one.

Each call raised funds for Sport Relief and the final total is expected to be more than £130,000.

Both Sian and I would like to say a huge thank you for all the support that we’ve received from the fans during the Just The Two Of Us show. Your voting kept us in the competition and eventually helped us win! So big hugs and kisses to all.
Keep the faith!

CONGRATULATIONS SIAN AND RUSSELL.

I was so proud of everyone who voted for them and now will have horrendous phone bills, but it was worth it. We couldn't vote from Australia, but we were there all the way with the UK fans. When I found out this morning that they had won, I screamed and did my "rain dance".

Congratulations Russell and Sian - if a little belated.

Had to tape each night and transfer Russell to dvd for a friend who is a huge fan with no access to video!

Loved the duet with Curtis - saved that one for me!

I did vote for Russell a few times the last night. I was in the audience for the first show and watched (or taped when it clashed with the skating) all the other shows. Thought the judges were particularly vicious towards Russell and Sian.

Some of song choices were not well judged
