Now What can I say other than IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Not that you'd expect anything else from our fabulous Amici. I went with two firends and our seats were great, fourth row smack bang in the middle, excellent view!!
Anyway so first came the support act, a chello player and she was really good, although I did find myself wishing she'd hurry up so we'd get Amici on, but the banter between her and the pianist was great.
Then there was a short interval....which allowed us to get our bubbly (mind you we'd already had a few cocktails over dinner ) and go to the loo.....then we sat down and waited as the music to Olympia started up......
......and then out came David, looking gorgeous in his white suit, followed by an equally gorgoues Geoff and then the girls (who were stunning!), they sung Olympia and then introduced themselves to the audience (which was huge by the way!!)
I forget the order of the songs now, the girls dresses were gorgeous though, I especially loved Jo's black velvet number!
The songs they sung though were:
Olympia
Whisper of Angels
Prayer in the night (which as a foursome sounds even better than it did if thats possible! )
The Prayer (Anthony Callea was in the audience too apparently, some fo the forum ammi's saw him come in)
Aranjuez
Habanera (Geoff and David ahd to stand still while the girls sung and danced around them....Geoff later commenting 'I feel used!' )
So Far Away
Senza CAtene
Land and Freedom
Funiculi Funicula (had some audience involvement with the crowd clapping along)
Aaja Re (which I haven't heard before...but it sounded amazing I loved it!!!)
Mon Coeur S'ouvre
Vita Mia
Nessun Dorma
They also did their lounge set, in which David sung 'Younger than Springtime' from South Pacific *swoon* was one of the highlights of the evening! The girls did numbers form Puccini and Tosca...I cant reacll the names though. And Geoff, our darling Geoff talked about how this was his last tour and that he was leaving to spend time with his daughter, he then sung 'My Way' with such emotion it gave me goosebumps...it was simply sensational....gonna miss you Geoff!!!
But <sigh> it was over all too soon, they came back for an encore of Nessun Dorma, which was stunning and they recieved a standing ovation at the end of it!
Now for the signing....my god there was a lot of people, and i mean a LOT!!! we couldnt even see the table they were signing at over the people, but somehow we managed to squish our way to the spot right in front of the table so we could get piccies in between the people getting their things signed. David looked up and gave us a smile then asked me if that was Paola's hubby sitting next to her at the concert...to which i replied that I thought so, but hadn't actually seen him myself....did I mention he used my name and got it right!!
So we stood around for a while with Bev and Paola...Alisa joined us a bit later (good to finally meet you Alisa!! ) and we waited as the line shrunk, everyone was being moved along quite quickly, Steve (their tour manager) made sure of it! Then it was finally our turn, Geoff was such a darling gave me a kiss hello on each cheek and thanked us for being a great cheer squad (yeah, we were...errrr....a little loud )...and David and I had our usual Marmite vs Vegemite debate.....then they had to leave, but Bev had managed to get Steve to agree to let us get some photos.....so we did!!
so all in all a fabulous night....only wish it could have gone on for longer.....but THANK YOU AMICI!!!
ETA: me and amici...would have been better if i wasnt pulling a face and was looking into the right camera!!

They are going to be on Kerri Anne Kennerley's morning program from 9am on Thursday this week. I was surfing her site looking for more stuff about Patrizio Buanne's appearance on there yesterday and found this information out for all of you who like them.
I think they may be performing as well as being interviewed, but not too sure on that.
I am not really into them, but for all of you who are, enjoy.
