Hi,

Named 'Male Artist of the Year' at the 6th annual Classical Brit Awards, Bryn sings with such a warm voice (the kind only Welsh folk can produce). In this forum let us know how you feel about him.

I've not really heard him! Mom and Dad brought my Grandad his album for Christmas though I think!

Yes Bryn does have a lovely voice. It is certainly a lot different to Russell's, and each to be admired in their own way, I think. Very Happy

I love Bryn and have quite a lot of his albums, but my favourite is his self-titled Cross-over one.

I've got 2 DVDs and some interviews and operas which I've taped off the telly. Two tapes which I won't part with are Tosca where he plays a very evil Scarpio and Le Nozze di Figaro - this is a different performance to the one out on DVD. This one is with Cecilia Bartoli, Renee Fleming and Dwayne Hoffman (I think that's his name).

I saw Bryn in recital a couple of years ago and he was just wonderful. He finished off with an impromptu duet of the Pearl Fishers with a local Perth tenor. That brought the house down. His local Welsh fans were sitting in the front row and he sang to them a few times and did his bit with the flower where he picks off the petals. I'm not really one for bass-baritones, but Bryn is very special and his performances are so "alive". Very Happy

You could be right rainy - he seems to have one of those nearly ageless faces. He's such a character and has a wicked sense of humour. About 6 years ago, he performed at our Lleeuwin Estate concert and won so many hearts. I didn't go to the concert but saw a televised interview and I thought hey classical singers are supposed to be very proper, but this guy's got a great sense of humour. One thing which I think sets Bryn apart from other singers is his perfect diction. He seems to come to Australia every 4 years, so I've still got another 2 years to wait, but it will be very sweet when I see him perform again. He loves his golf.

I love Bryn's voice - he can produce amazing spine tingles!
I have say I was slightly disappointed in Simple Gifts.. perhaps I hadn't realised it was going to be quite so heavy on the hymns - but he has such a range and can turn that voice to anything, that's there's bound to be a few I'm not that keen on... plenty of others that I really love though Very Happy

Bryn has the most fabulous voice. Being Welsh too I am so proud of him!

My favourite song on his Simple Gifts album is Deep River. He sings it so beautifully.
