Kiwi Celebrities Blog For '12 Days Of Unicef'

Well-known Kiwis including Hayley will be encouraging New Zealanders to shop for a gift that counts.

Each of the UNICEF supporters will write a blog about a particular Inspired Gift (aid gift) that people can buy to improve children's lives. These include emergency food, water pumps, exercise books and measles vaccinations. While the aid gift is shipped to children in need, the virtual recipient - a friend of family member - receives a card or e-card informing them of the gift.

The French Connection
Christchurch singing star Hayley Westenra has a French beau, and her family approves.
Westenra told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper she had a "lovely [French] boyfriend" who she met in London.
She said she was taking French lessons so she could speak to his family although her boyfriend's English was "great".
Westenra's father, Gerald, told The Press yesterday the relationship has been going "for a good 12 months".
The singer's boyfriend was around the same age as Hayley and also worked in the entertainment industry, he said.
The family met him when the couple came home for Christmas.
Gerald Westenra said they "definitely approved" of the relationship.
"He's a very nice guy, very relaxed and easy to talk to."
He said Westenra was "very,very happy" wit the relationship although it was "still early days" for the couple.
Westenra and her father declined to name her boyfriend.
