Gute nacht!
Jan 23rd, 2008,

Good evening everyone!

How are you all?

I'm in Berlin to launch the Femme de Mont Blanc fragrance for Mont Blanc. Only going to be here til tomorrow before we go off to Dublin to do The Late Late Show on Friday night.

Had a really lovely holiday with my family on board the QM2, cruising around the Caribbean, followed by a fantastic few days in New York. Hope you're all having a good start to 2008!

Just wanted to say a quick hi and as always, to send you my love!

Katherine xxx

Ps I'll leave you with a thought for the day...

Hi everyone! Don't know if you've already seen the Mail on Sunday.... Deciding to do the interview was a very difficult decision for me but it's something I felt I had to do. I hope you understand my reasons for doing this and I really hope I have your support - it means the world to me. It was a long time ago, I was young & naive and I genuinely hope this hasn't caused you too much upset. As always, sending you lots of love, Katherine xxx

Blog Sept 2009

Hi all,

I performed ‘I Believe’ from my new album on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing, did you see? It was really hard to concentrate with Vincent and Flavia doing their beautiful routine in front of me. I just wanted to watch them!

It was really nice catching up with everyone and we all had drinks in the bar afterwards. My mum was thrilled to come with me, she was so excited to meet all the dancers.

I was really surprised that Martina got voted out, I thought she would do really well and I don’t think she was the worst dancer. I felt really sorry for Matt Cutler too. For him to get voted out so early, must have been hard after all his success with Alesha.

On Sunday I went to the London Skyride. It’s a new cycling event that sees all the London roads closed off to other traffic and cyclists can take over. I didn’t cycle as I was too jetlagged but my family did.

Yesterday I was honoured to perform at Sir Bobby Robson’s memorial Service in Durham. I’d met Sir Bobby and his wife a few times and he was lovely. His wife invited me to sing because apparently he was a fan of my music. It was a very touching service, especially the beautiful poem at the end which was read by Paul Haywood.

I’ve got a busy week this week. I’m rehearsing for S4C, the Welsh TV channel. Then I’ve got the Big Gig in Bath this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing James Morrison and the Boyzone guys. Hope to see you there!

Have a great week

Love Katherine x

October 2009 Blog

Hi all,

I’m just on my way back to London from Wales. I’ve been there on a regional radio tour to promote my new album. I did interviews with The Wave, Swansea Sound, Bay FM, Real Radio, Red Dragon and BBC Radio Wales. I’m exhausted! It was nice to be back home but a shame it was such a brief stop, I only saw my mum and the dog for ten minutes. I also realised that this time last year I had my good friend Joe O’Neil with me. Joe used to do my press for Wales and we were very close. Unfortunately he passed away quite suddenly last year, so obviously today was particularly sad not to have him with me.

It’s been a pretty manic week. On Sunday I did my final summer concert of the year – the Big Gig in Bath. I performed the Godfather from my new album. The weather was great so we were very lucky.

On Tuesday I went to a very glamorous art auction fundraiser for the Macmillan Trust. I bought a Peter Blake painting called 'Marilyns Door'. The Macmillan Trust really looked after my dad before he died so I was really happy that the proceeds were going to a cause so close to my heart. My sister came along too; she raised lots of money for the charity last year when she climbed Kilimanjaro.

Last night I had dinner with the pro dancers from Strictly Come Dancing to celebrate Ola Jordan’s birthday. We celebrated at a nice Indian Restaurant on Baker Street called Indali Lounge. The food was delicious, very healthy. I love Strictly at the moment. It’s so hard to choose a favourite as they’re all such good friends, but I must say I think Ali Bastian is a fabulous dancer. I also mustn’t forget Joe Calzaghe, he is Welsh after all!

Tomorrow night Piers Morgan is interviewing me. I’m quite nervous, as he’s known for not leaving any stone unturned. Hopefully he’ll go easy on me as we’re good friends. Watch out for the show in October!

Take care everyone and speak again soon.

Love Katherine xx

Oct 9th 2009

9th October

Afternoon everyone!

Friday’s interview with Piers Morgan went really well. I was pretty nervous, as I’m sure everyone is when they’re about to get grilled by Piers, but it was actually quite an enjoyable and emotional interview. Usually my interviews only last a few minutes but this was an hour long, so it’ll be nice that people can really get to know me. I hope I gave as good as I got with Piers, we went for Pizza after the show so we’re still friends! Watch out for the show, it’s being broadcast on 24th October.

On Saturday afternoon my sister came round and we watched Strictly Come Dancing. Poor Rav, he seemed really disappointed with himself. What about you, do you think the right person got voted out? Who is your favourite?

Later on Saturday night I travelled up to Manchester for my early morning interview on The Andrew Marr Show (did you watch my performance of the Godfather?). The show was filmed at the Hilton Hotel, which has incredible views of the city.

I met David Cameron who was also appearing on the Andrew Marr Show. He seemed very nice but I was awfully embarrassed when he said he could hear me rehearsing all the way through his interview! He wasn’t complaining though, he said he enjoyed it. Phew! It was also interesting when he told me that he runs every morning to prepare his mind for the day. I can totally appreciate where he’s coming from, running is so great for your brain and stress levels.

On Monday I attended the Pride of Britain Awards. It was a tremendous honour to join Dame Vera Lynn in presenting Major Phil Packer with the award for Fundraiser of the Year. He’s such an inspiring person, as were all of the winners that night. Seeing Dame Vera again was wonderful, she’s incredibly supportive of me, as I am of her. How brilliant that she recently became the oldest living artist to have a Number One album!

On Tuesday I took part on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Gabby Logan. It was incredibly stressful and while we failed to raise as much as I’d hoped, I was very proud to donate my proceeds to The British Armed Forces.

I’m now on my way to Wales to film a concert for S4C. I’ve loved reading about all your favourite places in Wales! I’ll be sure to post some responses asap!

Take care guys and have a lovely weekend
Love, Katherine xx
