Two concerts! - one presenting the other singing Lucky those who can make them! And it will be another "Tardis" weekend for Aled with GMS fitted in between early Sunday morning
Sunday 5th:
*Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00.- 9.00 Aled says Good Morning Sunday to Hugh Bonneville, who takes on a gruelling 100km walk this summer. He read Theology at Cambridge before embarking on an acting career in film and television. Plus the Revd Ruth Scott discusses the week's news from a faith and ethics perspective and gives the Moment of Reflection.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 1.00: Aled is in conversation with broadcaster, Tony Blackburn.
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 6.30 - 8.00: Dance: Aled explores the idea of dance in choral music and presents complete performances of two major choral ballets -Stravinsky's Les Noces and Holst's The Golden Goose.
Sunday 12th:
*Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00.- 9.00 Aled says Good Morning to Dame Ellen MacArthur. Dame Ellen joins Aled to talk about her life on and offshore, and about why she set up the Ellen MacArthur Trust.
There's also live music from the New Seekers, and the Principal Chaplain of the Sailors' Society, the Reverend David Potterton, discusses the week's news from a faith and ethics perspective and gives the Moment Of Reflection.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 1.00: Aled shares music and conversation with John Simpson.
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 6.30 - 8.00 The Kodaly Method: Aled presents a celebration of the life and work of Kodaly. Composer, philosopher, teacher and Hungarian national icon, Zoltan Kodaly was one of the most important figures in the history of 20th-century choral music. Including a special feature on the composer's groundbreaking Kodaly Method of music education.
Saturday 18th: Gibside, Burnopfield, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE16 6BG 8.00: Classical Spectacular & Fireworks. Aled presents an evening of classical music with a fantastic fireworks finale. Experience Northern Sinfonia in its 50th season - a welcome return to Gibside. BAFTA-nominated New Yorker Carl Davis conducts a programme including Williams' beautiful 'The Lark Ascending' and Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture' alongside soloist Bradley Creswick. 'Land of Hope and Glory' and a stunning fireworks spectacular will conclude this magical evening.'

Plus, Father Christopher Jamison discusses the week's news from a faith and ethics perspective and gives the Moment of Reflection. Aled also plays tracks that celebrate both choral traditions and modern music as well as spiritually uplifting and reflective music.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 1.00: Aled looks back at some of his favourite interviews; this week, the guest is Patricia Routledge.
* Songs of Praise: BBC 2: 4.25 5.00: Composers. As the Proms season begins, Aled discovers how many of the nation's favourite hymns have been influenced by Britain's most well-known composers, including Edward Elgar and Ralph Vaughan Williams. He finds out who composed the inspirational tunes associated with I Vow to Thee My Country and Jerusalem, and John Rutter talks about the impact of the church on his own music

He talks about his work and his new album as Aled launches the Good Morning Sunday Contemporary Hymnwriters series, featuring Graham Kendrick, Bernadette Farrell, Bishop Timothy Dudley Smith and others.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 1.00: Aled revisits his favourite programmes for the Summer. This week, Aled's chat and music show will be with BBC Radio 2 broadcaster, David Jacobs.
