All in the aid of charity though! Laughing Laughing

Hi Everyone,

As a local Bognor boy I've had my sights set on competing in the Birdman of Bognor competition for a long time and, although this has now changed location to Worthing Pier, I will finally be putting my daredevil skills to the test and flying through the air in aid of Breast Cancer Care charity.

On August 22nd I will be joining 47 fellow aviators in throwing myself from a platform on Worthing Pier and attempting to fly over 100m in order to win a jackpot of £30,000.

The thought of leading the way as the benchmark flyer in front of 25,000 people is obviously terrifying but it is going to be a lot of fun and, most importantly, a brilliant opportunity for me to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care, a charity that is very close to my heart. I lost my Aunt Brenda to the disease so I know only too well how vital it is to receive the relevant, reliable and up-to-date clinical and emotional support and information that Breast Cancer Care offers.

I know times are tight financially but if you could dig deep to sponsor me you will be helping to raise vital funds to provide support for the 46,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the every year (that’s one person every 11 minutes).

Thank you so much for your support!

Jonathan

I am not convinced he will dress up. He is going to be the benchmark flyer - all serious stuff!! lol He is extremely competitive so I wouldn't think he would want anything getting in the way!. Laughing

What ever he will be flying will definitely be pink to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Care.

Good luck to him and all power to his wings Very Happy

Well Marian this is what he has been saying on Twitter

Quote:
I tried my outfit on today for #worthingbirdman wow its pink!! I am nervous now, as it is finally in sight, just a few days. How time flies

My slogan for #worthingbirdman is, 'Give a Tenor a Tenner' It will make sense on the day. Thanks for all the support so far. Bring it on.

Jumping for @BCCare in #worthingbirdman please give this tenor a tenner http://www.justgiving.com/jonathanansell/

So it is pink and daft but you will have to wait and see what it looks like - we expect to see the photographic evidence!
