Post subject: The Ten Tenors Line up
November 2008 Ten Tenors line up...
* Craig Hendry
(Chendry)
Craig, or "Chendry", as he is affectionately known by the others, first joined The Ten Tenors back in August 2000 as the group's keyboard player and backing programmer. Previous experience in this area included accompanying various choirs, playing in numerous jazz ensembles and musical theatre orhestras and creating demo tracks in his home studio.But it was Chendry's vocal background that would eventually come to the fore and in January 2003, he joined the "front line" of The Ten Tenors. Despite a largely classically-based training, Chendry's main experience was forged in the field of vocal jazz, having both participated and performed in jazz festivals and master classes in Australia and Asia. Highlights include the 1998 Singapore Fringe Festival, singing with Michael Crawford on his Australian tour of the same year and performing the lead boy soprano line in his Grade 3 choir's rendition of "Don Gatto".
Chendry also brings inspiration from the world of theatre. You may remember him in roles of varying degrees of importance in such critically acclaimed plays as Camelot and West Side Story, to name but a few.When he's not on stage, Chendry enjoys reading, exercising and Smirnoff Vodka and continues his involvement in the creation of the group's orchestrations, arrangements and original material.
* Jason Short
(shorty)
Jason is a 24 year old Sagittarian who was born and bred in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. At the age of ten, he moved to Queensland and through friends was introduced to the world of the performing arts. Since then, the passion to perform in front of the masses has taken hold, and it's unlikely he will ever look back! From performances in Les Miserables to a televised rendition as Frankenfurta from the Rocky Horror Show, Jason has loved every minute of his performing life.
As a young lad, sport also played a significant role in Jason's life. After some strict instruction and his first blue and white beanie and scarf from his Great Aunt Gladis, Jason will forever be an avid supporter of the AFL team, Geelong Cats. GO THE CATS!
Jason is forever grateful to have been given the opportunity to tour and perform to audiences all around the world with The Ten Tenors.
*
Drew Graham
(Creamy)
A potential career as a professional saxophonist threw Drew together with the other members of The Ten Tenors. While studying saxophone at university, Drew saw the fun that his mates in the vocal department were having and quickly transferred to the vocal course. Shortly thereafter, in 1998, Drew became a member of The Ten Tenors and since then his saxophone has languished in its case, except for occasional cameo appearances on stage and on The Ten Tenors' recordings.
Prior to joining The Ten Tenors, Drew undertook critically acclaimed performances in The Bartered Bride, Brahms' Requiem, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and numerous performances with Studiopera.
Through his passion for digital video and photography, Drew has become a self-styled multi-media biographer of the group; he is currently shooting a documentary-style film of The Ten Tenors' touring life.
* Stephen Sowden
(Biscuit)
Steven pursued music from an early age, and graduated from the Central Queensland University Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music Theatre in 2004. Steve has played leading roles in Aspects of Love, Chess, Chicago, Kiss Me Kate and Footloose.

Jeff Teale
Jeff Teale was only really introduced to the world of performing arts at the age of 19. As a young lad, sport played a significant role in his childhood, particularly AFL. His dreams of a career in the Australian Football league took a turn when he eventually explored his love for music and singing.
The young singer then began exploring all different styles of music and performance. He played Enjolras in Ignatians production of Les Miserables in 2005, began writing his own songs and was even known to busk with his guitar on the streets of Brisbane.
Jeff first joined the Tenors in January 2006. He was very fortunate to be a part of both the worldwide release of the album, Here's to the Heroes, and also the DVD, 'A night with The Ten Tenors'. Some of his most memorable experiences with the Tenors so far have been performing at London's Royal Albert Hall, and being part of the album production at Abbey Rd and Air Studios in London. He was also very lucky to be a part of the two-week run of shows at Hollywood's, Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Recently, Jeff has had some time off from the rigours of worldwide touring in order to complete some more vocal training and pursue other goals back in Australia. He is very excited to be back on the road with the Tenors in his new role, and looks forward to learning as much as he can and exploring the rest of the world.
