From Classics and Jazz........

Blake, the award-winning boyband whose uniquely harmonious fusion of popular, classical and operatic numbers return next month with their second album And So It Goes.

Featuring a range of songs including Chasing Cars and The Closest Thing to Crazy the album showcases the passion and virtuosity of four very British boys, all trained as choristers who met on Facebook just 18 months ago and quickly realised that together they had something uniquely special to offer music lovers. Their soaring harmonies, youthful energy and genuine charm touched a chord with a wide range of fans who quickly identified with the Blake Sound as something fresh and distinct.

And So It Goes is released on 29th September

Hello everyone,

it's so exciting, I went on to BLAKE's website today and they have clips from the new album playing on the site - OMG!!!!!!! Amazing!

Ok here goes, what I think of what I've heard so far:

Chasing Cars - just astounding, sounds like a radio 1 song!
Up Where We Belong - really great, just like Last Choir Standing
Closest thing to crazy - better than the original, lovely harmony
Time to say goodbye - so relaxing, took me to heaven & back Smile

Sadly, thats as many clips as they have so far, hopefully we get to hear some more soon! What gets me with these clips is how different their voices sound on this album, almost like another group of singers - how do they manage to have such different voices, so impressive.

I will be on the doorstep of my local HMV when this album comes out - hurry on the 29th I say!!!!!!!! Smile

Hello everybody,

It's been really interesting reading everyones comments about how similar or different BLAKE and IL DIVO are, loads of great comments. However, I think we're all going to get a bit of shock with BLAKE's second album. I just went on their website (www.blakeofficial.com) and they have got clips from the new album playing on the site. It's amazing how different they sound from IL DIVO, whilst still being beautiful. Also, they now have photos of the band taken for the new album cover, which are very sexy Wink

The clips you can hear include Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol), Closest Thing To Crazy, Time to Say Goodbye & Up Where We Belong. All of them sound really unique and quite stunning. I think they've decided to sing in a variety of new styles to suit their songs, which is really interesting. It's certainly going to be a very uplifting album, but not all heavy opera voices.

I'm so happy that the two bands have now shown themselves to have different sides. I can't wait for IL DIVO's new album too, but this time, it will be sitting alongside BLAKE's - sure in the knowledge that they are very different from one another Smile

Go have a listen for yourself on their website, its surprising!

It's good to hear that you are enjoying the clips BigDiva - it makes the wait for the new album even more exciting.
I particularly like Chasing Cars and Closest Thing to Crazy, I think the way they are taking it in turns to have solo parts and have the others do the harmonies is another great twist on showing how great they can harmonise together and it creates a beautiful sound. Smile

I'm liking the use of african drums in Chasing Cars - very original! Smile And Time to Say Goodbye sounds completely different to any other version I've heard.
Can't wait to hear more of Closest Thing to Crazy - I bet they've used beautiful harmonies in it.

This definitely sounds more like a pop/crossover album than the previous - nice Smile x

According to the information on Blake's Facebook, Blake's album is currently number 13 in the pop charts - and it's only 4 days after it's release. According to their information, they need just 1500 more sales to make it into the top 10!
Have you got your copy yet? Smile

Just found out from a friend who uses facebook, BLAKE are apparently at No.13 in the uk pop charts with their new "And So It Goes" album.

Someone has said that they are only 1500 record sales away from getting a classical crossover album into the UK Top Ten album chart, amazing!!!!!

I think as crossover fans we should all be giving BLAKE a helping hand, and showing the UK that classical crossover is the music of the future Smile

I ordered 3 copies of their new album on Amazon today, and also bought two for my brother and sister (who have not been into classical crossover before) from Asda, who are doing a good price promotion on it too.

I went to : CLICK HERE

I'm so proud that a British crossover band have got our music so high up in the charts. It's a great way to show all my friends that the music I love so much, deserves to be at the top of the charts. Thank you BLAKE!!!!

Big DIVA.

That's brilliant news! The album is absolutely fantastic! I bought 2 copies the other day - one for me and one for my mum for her birthday. I love the fact that they've each got a couple of songs that feature them as individuals, as well as hearing them work together as well as they do. x

As the guys are going on about the pop chart does that mean this album is not eligible for the Classical Chart - the track listing does not seem to be 60% classical? If so does that mean they are really going the Il Divo way?

Of course that has been very successful but I have always rather liked the harmonies and bit sad they seem to be leaving this behind and going for the solo voices?
