This is so exciting, letting the public choose an aria through Classic fm, for

the tour, and choosing a soprano to appear with Jonathan, on tour,

on The Alan T show, well done UCJ and Jonathan Shalit,

Glad I have got my tickets as I think they will be in short supply

They say an aria
an elaborate song for solo voice in an opera or choral work
or
In opera, a musical work for solo voice that expresses the innermost thoughts and feelings of an operatic character. Arias usually do not drive the action of the drama; rather, they provide moments of reflection for the character, as well as opportunities for lyrical expression in the opera.

I wonder if we will get a list of arias to choose from.

Che Gelida Manina would have to be in the running for me - I love Jonathans version so much - every time I hear it I get tears in my eyes - such a beautiful piece of music. How wonderful would it be to hear him sing it LIVE on tour.

Hopefully we will know more when we get the September issue of CFM magazine!

Love Molly xx

I kinda expect him to sing all the arias that he has on his solo albums

Nessun Dorma, from Turandot
Amor Te Vieta, from Fedora
E Lucevan Le Stelle, from Tosca
Che Gelida Manina from La boheme

or G4
La Donna e Mobile from Rigoletto

and at a push
A Wand'ring Minstrel I from The Mikado

Brindisi, from La Traviata - should be a duet??
Au Fond du Temple Saint from Pearl Fishers is definitely a duet!

Here are some more?
Vesti la giubba - Pagliacci
Recondita Armonia - Tosca
Celeste Aida - Aida
Una Furtiva Lagrima - L' Elisir D'Amore
Donna Non Vidi Mai - Manon Lescaut
Addio, Fiorito Asil - Madam Butterfly
Di Quella Pira - Il Trovatore
Lenski's Aria - Eugene Onegin
Ah Mes Amis - La Fille du Regiment
La Fleur Que Tu M'avais Jetee - Carmen
Di'tu se fedele - Un Ballo In Maschera
Cielo e mar - La Gioconda
Amore O Grillo - Madam Butterfly
Un'aura Amorosa - Cosi Fan Tutte
Ecco ridente in cielo - Barber of Seville
Ah, Si, ben mio - Il Trovatore

and there will be lots, lots more ....

Thanks Dilog, you have given us plenty there to choose from,

if four years ago anyone had told me I would be looking through lists of

Arias, discussing Classical music ,I would not have believed it,

G4 and the lovely Jonathan, have enriched my life so much,

by giving me this interest in Classical Music,
