Tried watching this again last night but sorry to say, I fell asleep. I didn't reckon to any of the choirs that I did see - most had a 'lead singer' and the rest were backing vocals - surely not what a choir is all about is it?

Must be Hones M
I have to agree,
I missd the first, Watched last weeks, Like seeing them 'audition' or whatever that was. And quite enjoyed it, Hoping it would get better and maybe progress
And I watched last nigths (And never enjoyed it)
I dont like the lay out for a start
All pre recorded and The way the judges made their decisions
I didnt think Alley cats were anything special to begin with, But last night their first performance was so out of tune and off key
OK Im no expert But blimey that was atroshish. Second was a little better, But no means good enough to have got them this far ???
And Im disapointed that we are getting sob stories
I was hoping this show would be a little above the need of that.

As you say M seemed more soloist with backing for some,
Ans the thing with choir voices (IMO be it right ior wrong) Is it is about all your voices geling and complimenting each others and making your unique sound, Some of The soloist didnt have strong enough voices to take leads I dont think,

So no I cant say I was blown away last night
hope we know when Jon is on at some point so I dont have to sit through em all in the hope,

I've watched it from beginning, it's not bad, but not a good format. The Alleycats and Dreemz were right to go out last night, they were out of tune and as was said, didn't have strong enough voices to carry the lead.

I thought the two best choirs went through.

Cortes is usually very good, but I thought he looked ill last night, and not on very good form. I didn't think it was very nice of the presenter to say Cortes had to sing in front of Russell, he wasn't being judged, as if Cortes would worry about that.

I had to remind myself by listening to Jonathan singing ND this morning with G4, and he was much better than Cortes he sang with passion, tone and depth. No contest really. And Cortes is usually an excellent singer.

I'm surprised but delighted that Jonathan is singing Barcelona! Fabulous!

I'm so pleased the welsh choir went through - I really liked them. The other choir that went through was good too.

I'm really enjoying the show. Smile

I liked Cortes singing ND - and I'm looking forward to Libera on Saturday and then - woo hoo - the man of the moment! Cant wait to hear him sing!

Love Molly xx

Natalie, you've been busy! Shocked
I expected Jonathan to be live on a Saturday. I only applied for Saturday shows on my day offs. I won't see him then Crying or Very sad haven't received any tickets anyway so far Rolling Eyes
It looks like Jonathan is holiding up all new materials. I'm ...feeling rather ...mmm hard to explain Confused . Not too happy about Jonathan recycling G4 songs. I treasure the wonderful singing of G4 for their ND and Barcelona, which are unique in the way G4 harmonised, and want to think they were the best arrangement. I loved the way ND had its depth as in the harmony, compared to anybody singing solo.

Good to know the date, keep the video till then - wearing the tape out keep rewinding, thanks Natalie.

Well his voice singing Barcelon with G4 was wonderful but its changed so much since it will be a new experience, especially with a full choir - just goes on and on doesn't it!!!

I would hardly say that singing ND as a soloist was ' re-cycling' - or there is an awful lot of it going on, re-interpretation yes. If anything it belonged to Pavarotti and he was quite happy for G4 to borrow it. As said Jonathans voice has deepened greatly and yet his high Cs just as good if not better than ever - no definately better as he is constantly having voice training now and did not with G4. I trust that the songs he sings now he will again sing in his 30s as his voice matures even more - its what opera singers do. It does not stop you listening to old recordings of G4, and enjoying them.

Oh please forgive me I could of sworn I put up my review on here
Anyway here it is

From OS
I just got back home, and darling hubby made me my tea which Im drinking as I type

Guess who was guest and who had to sing 2 times ------------------------------------------------------------------------Jonathan

He sung Barcalona and got thunderopus appaulse then he had to sing it again

He had backing singers

He wore what Looked like blue suit

I had from people near me oh he is good so I told them about him

The choirs were good and right one got through

I did not see Jonathan to talk to him but he spotted me in the audiance I was upstairs and I got thumbs up and a winkBig Smile

forgot to say Jonathan had his photo taken with Marleene and thats when he spotted me

After he sung theres may of been little chance he would see me the appauld was so lound thefloor manager? sort of waved us to stop it or lest it looked like it to my eyes and lights of the studio it may of been more diffucult to spot anyone up on top tier

Jonathan looked thrilled at the reception he got

Just remembered that last week they announced that the results sing-off show (which Cortes sang on) would be shown on a Sunday night - so I expect Jonathan will be shown on that on 3rd August and not the actual show on the 2nd Wink

Thank you Natalie for the review. Very Happy Lucky you! hearing Barcelona twice.. Shocked
Now I found the words, I meant to say. Hearing Jonathan sing the ones used be sung by G4, I get 'mixed feeling'. That's the word. Jonathan sings ND beautifully, and bet he does it for Barcelona. I am not unhappy, but have a 'mixed feeling' Confused Yet, I'm looking foward to hearing Barcelona, Jonathan's version Smile
