I think my main puzzlement was with some of the comments of E05297535 – “Liked his admiration for all of the artists, giving each his personal perceptions of them as he introduced each one”. The presenter is, of course, meant to introduce the artists positively (I have visions of a presenter saying: ”Next we have x; I don’t like him myself, but there we go, they’ve asked him on the show and……!!! Laughing ) and the information about each artist was given to him in the script, he didn’t have time or opportunities to give his “personal perceptions”, I’m afraid they were given for him!

That being so, my last sentence merely pointed out that, if he is asked to present FNIMN again he will, presumably, be asked to prepare his own script; and then it will indeed be “Jonathan” informing about/commenting on the artists/music etc. Kay has made much the same point when she said: “I hope he gets invited again, with little more personality of himself”

I would also like to point out that I said at the very beginning: “But all in all, and considering the very short notice he had, I think Jon did pretty well”

Xbons , most of us knew that Jonathan would be reading from Aleds script,

and I am sure that Aled was very pleased that Jonathan stepped in at the last moment, due to him not being very well,

Aled is a very good presenter, very experienced ,and its down to his excellent script that Jonathan was able to follow it so well , I am sure that Jonathan would love to be able to do it again with his very own script,
its good that artists can help each other out like this ,

I know what you mean, Xbons. I am (and was) very much aware that lots of time spent and effort was made for preparation by Aled. Jonathan also presented Great Movie Composers on Classic fm, for which, I gather, the script was prepared for him.
Even he reads script prepared by somebody, I think there is a room he can put his own personality . It is easier said than done, but I am hoping that when Jonathan gets used to it, he can throw a few words of his own, and he can read it in a way to reflect his personality Very Happy
Just to say 'Friday Night is Music Night!' if 10 people said it, it will be 10 different ways to say it Wink
