Another article about the concert in the Salford Advertiser

Quote:
Russell said: "I’m incredibly excited about the forthcoming concert, I think for every artist there is something special about performing in your home town. With the events of the last 12 months in mind I know it is going to be an extra special evening. I’ve had such amazing backing and support from local people over the last few months and it has been incredibly touching.

"I’d like to give them something back, and an evening to remember for all."

"....A Pendleton park will be transformed into a classical paradise this weekend as thousands of music-lovers come to the city for Proms in the Park in Salford.

Irlam tenor Russell Watson will be performing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Buile Hill Park on Saturday, September 13 in front of 8,000 music fans.

Russell will serenade his home crowd of thousands with a set of six classic songs including Volare, Panis Angelicus, Swing Low and Nessun Dorma...."

Six songs. So this is a great reminder to say that this is a Proms Concert with Russell performing and not a Russell concert proms style. Still it is bound to be a very patriotic and enjoyable night. Very Happy
