Victoria Hart was a guest on This Morning erm this morning and chatted away about her start in singing and then about her current status of touring with Russell. She seemed very smitten with Russell, blushing as they talked about him. Commented about how he doesn't look/act at all like he's not long been seriously ill. And also joked about the lack of rehearsal for their duet (through not actually seeing each other until in Glasgow) so they only had a quick practice of The Prayer during soundcheck in Glasgow and Russell told her not to worry and that they'd just act it up on stage.
Sounds like he relaxed her with his down to earth attitude of life. |

A lot of Russell fans are saying that Victoria is very nice, she chatted to them and signed their programmes at the stage door. |

That's good.
I think Victoria's musical style is an aqcuired taste and because a lot of people have never heard of her before (being fairly new to the music scene) it'll take a while to get used to her.
I'm looking forward to seeing her and hopefully meeting her too in Sheffield.
AND Russell of course. We all know he is fabulous. And from what I have read and seen it sounds like he is putting on a Fantastic show for us all. |

I think you will have to fine out for yourself about Victoria. Some people are not impressed with her at all. |

Also I want thank you for the video interview and the resume you did (is more difficult to me understand Russell spoking and laughing so quickly)
I'm very happy seeing Russell so fit and with such a great success in the tour, singing with a so great passion... |

your welcome linomata.
There is a lovely fan review in the Birmingham Mail
| Quote: | Russell Watson at Birmingham Symphony Hall - a reader's review
Jun 19 2008 Submitted by Rebecca Riley
BIRMINGHAM Mail reader Rebecca Riley, of Redditch, went to see Russell Watson at Birmingham's Symphony Hall. She was so impressed she sent us this review.
"SO soon after his second brain tumour Russell Watson has come back and put his all into his second tour in two years.
Birmingham Symphony Hall welcomed Watson and his supporting fans on Sunday evening for an outstanding performance. Although Watson has been out for a while with health problems, they don't seem to have affected his voice the slightest if anything it has improved.
His introduction was very welcoming as fans gave him a standing ovation as they accepted him with open arms. He even seemed shocked at the welcome they gave him, saying it was the best welcome he's had so far.
He began the concert with the operatic number 'O Sole Mio, as this is the genre he is best known for singing. This also got many of the audience on their feet applauding how well he had done after all he had been through.
The second song was Panis Angelicus which with his newly deepened voice sounded perfect. As the night continued he sang a variety of songs ranging from operatic to the more relaxed and easy listening songs such as You Make Me Feel So Young.
He had the 19-year-old, Victoria Hart as a guest singer who sung two of her own songs and The Prayer joint with Russell himself. Her songs were slightly more upbeat but personally I believe she was just there for Russell to have a costume change.
After the break he came back with Volare where all his die hard fans knew he would enter the audience to shake hands and thank them for coming.
This didn't go as planned as he got to about the fifth row and was "mobbed" by all the ladies in the audience who were trying to get hugs and kisses from him. This resulted in his security guard being called over to allow him to return to the stage much to the dismay of his fans sat in the rear stalls.
During the second half a woman approached the stage with a present and a note for Russell. The note asked him to sing Try A Little Tenderness which to the audience's disappointment he replied that he couldn't remember all the words to it.
He finished the night with five encores in total which I believe was a way of showing the audience how much he appreciated their support.
The encore included a song which he and the band had been practising before hand but have not yet released on CD before singing his final song of the night, the well known You Raise Me Up.
Throughout the whole night Russell seemed upbeat and genuinely happy to be back on stage, singing again. This leads me to the conclusion that we will definitely be seeing more of Russell Watson in the future with him already planning another CD and his current book, Finding My Voice, is out now for everyone to read." |
