I've managed a few sneaky peeks through it but I'm working 8hours on my own tomorrow, so I am certain Russell will be a pleasant way to pass the time. Very Happy

Margaret the photos are fantastic aren't they. The captions are VERY cheeky, esp Elton John and The Keys ones. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am loving the book. I am about half way through it (I know I know I'm taking my time Rolling Eyes Laughing )
It's a great read with some laugh out loud bits and then just as quick some bits where you go aww or oh no.
I love reading the old stories that we know so well from interviews, (I'm even doing the Russell voices he does from old work bosses etc lol), and also interesting to learn new things too.
Like I said I'm only half way through, where he's getting a record deal, but already I'm like 'oooh I didn'y know that' lol

Thumbs up to Russell, FANTASTIC book. Very Happy

The latest issue of ClassicFM Magazine (september) has a review of Russell's book.

Finding My Voice - My Story
Russell Watson

Say what you like about celebrity autobiographies - if they were all as packed with drama as that of 'the people's tenor' Russell Watson they'd deserve their places on the best seller list. This is a terrific read, chopping back and forth in time to describe the star's rise from factory worker to singing sensation, followed by divorce and two near-fatal brain tumours. It's crammed with self-depricating humour that doesn't wane even when our narrater finds himself virtually blind in the back of an ambulance. His defiance of the 'opera mafia' and feisty defence of crossover music is also refreshingly free from self-pity. Worth reading for the description of working men's clubs alone - venues where the singer was sidelined in favour of bingo, issued with death threats, and was once told 'You'll never work in Burnley again.'
4 out of 5 stars

That's a nice review. Smile

If you were to write a short review of the book what would you put?
Very Happy
