What a fabulous interview that was.
Russell and Paul chatting and having a laugh about the good old days working together in Blackpool. Paul mentioned how he knew Russell had made it big when he stepped out of a cab in L.A and saw a massive pair of feet on a poster looked up and there was Russell on a 200foot poster.
They chatted about Russell's 2year ill health and writing the book whilst having radiotherapy and recovering.
Chatted about Rebecca, now being 13. Paul couldn't believe she that old already. Russell joked how since turning she changed, and that one day he was messing about pulling faces in the mirror and how she walked past and just said 'Wierdo!'
There was also a snippet from Last Choir Standing of Russell messing about singing and attempting to dance with one of the male choirs. Looks like that's gonna be a fun show.
It was a really great down to earth interview between two old mates.

It really was a brilliant interview, they where both so relaxed and Russell's laughter was really from the belly, brilliant
I loved the way Paul introduced Russell and when they shook hands he said 'Ow Come er!' and hugged him I loved the whole interview really but that was such a lovely gesture. |

Russell sang Caruso and then pushed the button for the Lotto draw.
He looked a little nervous when Scott Mills (presenter) got him to plug everything. CD, tour, book. But apart from that he was still our Russell. |

Russell was on just after 9am. But it was a pre-recorded interview.
He was introduced as being one of the few Classical artists to successfuly crossover to the mainstream, making him a perfect choice to be a judge on Last Choir Standing.
There are a few snippets of the interview (even bits that weren't broadcast) on the BBC Click Here |
