This is just fantastic news. According to his interview by Classic fm after the Classical Brits, we are to be treated to another album, this one containing "big tunes" and will be eligible for the classic charts again!!
Even better news is that he is again teaming up with Nick Ingman and Grant Mitchell for this project
From Nick's website
"Next month, I am teaming up with producer Grant Mitchell to start on a second album with tenor Jonathan Ansell, ex of G4, whose last album I arranged, which went straight to the top of the classical charts."

Brilliant news Marian.
What bliss - a second album - and with the same two wonderful producers too!
I am so looking forward to "big tunes"...........
October/November is shaping up to be two great months for me - what with Jonathan and Cliff bringing out tours and albums and all manner of good things!

I'm hopeing the promo will start soon given there is a tour and album to be promoted and it would also give Jonathan the chance to get out and about over the summer talking about his new album -all raises awareness .
Like the idea of selling the album at the tour venues -catch the impulse buyers . |

Indeed Marian - I dont know how Im going to cope with it all! So much excitement.
I need to start stocking up on the pennies too! All the tour merchandise to think of as well as albums and tour tickets! And a book - in Cliffs case!
I think it would be a great idea to sell albums at Jonathans tour. I dont think they would be chart eligible - but the record company would have more sales! And every sale counts!

Yes I agree Molly even if it's not chart eligible still counts as albums sold .That said though a pre Christmas album release is at a mad time of year for sales often with just a few hundred sales making the difference between several places in the chart -would hope the sales would count if it's at all possible-want Jonathan to have a good opening week so he can establish his place in the charts over November/December .. |

Yes it will be tough for Jonathan with this second album.
According to Haven there are albums in the pipeline for that time of year from Hayley Westenra, Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson. Also Will Martin has an album out in September and Cortes, Rolando Villazon, Nigel Kennedy and Natasha Marsh in June - all will probably be eligible for nominations for the next Brit awards too.
I'm hoping and praying that this second album will have material that will really grab the attention of the GBP.

Universal are releasing a lot of albums then -think we can add Blake to that mix also ...as long as the public get to hear Jonathan and he has the right material i'm sure he'll be fine.
Very curious to see what Katherine comes up with -i've a feeling she won't want to miss out on the Classical Brits next year and her next album will be eligible for the classical chart ...will be interesting to see how her fans react to a classical album after the more mainstream year shes had-i'll be buying Katherine's and Hayley's albums for sure I think . |

Oh thanks Cathy- been working every day so not able to get to town to buy cfm magazine till Saturday ..
-that sounds a full classical album for Katherine for sure ..not surprised.
I think if Jonathan keeps with the "Big fantastic tunes" he said in the cfm interview he was planning for his second album ...Jonathan won't go far wrong.
No pretty but light "Danny Boy" type tracks leading the second album I hope -i'm hopeing for big vocals and money notes that can give wow performances at every promo appearance and hopefully "Big fantastic tunes" means Jonathan has the same thing in mind .. |
