Aled and Katie Melua's concert

During the Children in Need programme on radio 2 earlier this year, there was bid for £250,000 for Aled and Katie Melua to sing at a special concert; this was held on Tuesday, at Davenport Hall in Hale, Cheshire. There is an article about the concert in the news section - see

Aled talked about this on Dawn Patrol on Wednesday, and it sounds as if it was a wonderful evening. In addition to the £250,000 to Children in Need, the proceeds of the evening went to the Princes Trust, and Aled said that another £250,000 was raised on the night - so half a million in total!! - amazing!

The poor fellow then had to return to London and apparently got back at about 3.00 am, and was back on air at 6.00 am, still sounding as chirpy as ever!

It sounds like a wonderful result. Congratulations to them both! Very Happy
