The Queen’s eldest grandson, Peter Phillips, has married his Canadian bride, Autumn Kelly, in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Alfie Boe permormed a solo, singing Ave Maria and Panis Angelicus.
The service was led by the Rt Rev David Conner, the Dean of Windsor, and the choir of St George’s chapel was directed by Timothy Byram-Wigfield.

What a wonderful opportunity for Alfie. I hope it gets him a lot more fans. I'm sure he sounded wonderful and would have made their day all that more special. |

There is a 100 page special on the wedding in Hello magazine (available now) Number 1022. 27th May 2008 issue.
It mentions Alfie a couple of times, the first states what he sang and the second is a response from Autumn to the question -
How did you decide on the order of Service?
A: "I chose Alfie Boe to sing Ave Maria during the signing of the register and Panis Angelicus with the choir. He's an opera tenor singer and a northern lad who used to be a mechanic. He's very young, was top of the classical charts not so long ago. I met him at one of Sir Michael's events and he came on the Parkinson Show and on Michael's radio show. He performed at Sir Michael's pub, the Royal Oak, and told us that he would be honoured to sing at our wedding. We were honoured to have him sing! So we took him up on that. |
