Something else to look forward too!!
Saturday August 23rd
Classic FM's Proms Spectacular
A perfect summers evening with the English National Orchestra and ever exuberant conductor Jae Alexander, leading the audience through a superb programme of popular classics, film themes and many of the firm favourites associated with the ‘Last Night Of The Proms’. Guest performers include talented star tenor Jonathan Ansell, formerly of opera group G4 and now enjoying huge success as a solo artist; and star soprano and opera diva Natasha Marsh. The evening reaches its climax with a dazzling fireworks display to accompany all the flag-waving fun of ‘Rule Britannia’ and ’Land of Hope & Glory’. It’s a picnic, it’s a party, it’s another excuse to dress up and have fun - but most of all it’s a wonderful experience and a truly memorable evening.

I am so looking forward to this event. I have always liked this series of outdoor concerts, mainly attending those at Kenwood but Marble Hill sounds fabulous.
It is such a great evening as long as the weather holds that is!! I also like them because it is not your usual outdoor venue as many of us have experienced with G4. Ok it might get a bit muddy if the heavens open up but it is a glorious setting attended by all sorts of people wanting a relaxing evening listening to the very best artists performing with an amazing orchestra.
I for one will be taking a picnic and a bottle of something suitable for the occasion and sit back in my chair to take in the atmosphere. _________________ Marian X

I am sure you can find a way for this one Cathy!!
Think this will be a brilliant gig. Of course Jonathan and Natasha appeared together when G4 did their cathedral tour. Wonder of they had a reminisce about this at the Classical Brits last week or perhaps they were nattering about this event? _________________ Marian X

Wonder if Natasha might be one of the "special guests" on the Night at the Opera tour?
Sounds like it will be a great concert - another one we at home will be looking forward to hearing all about!

Me too Cathy....not sure what we are doing about accommodation...need to discuss with DH.....but at least it's a bank holiday and shouldn't interfere with work for most people. |
