All set for this - son's banned to upstairs TV for footie - DVD set and not long to go now !!
Although, I did come out in sympathy with Jonathan earlier as I had a couple of toasted bagels for tea and forgot to turn off the grill until DH asked what was burning
- had to open the back door for the smoke

We all loved the show! Jonathan's humour and down to Earth-ness was very evident. Fabulous entertainment.

I honestly can't see to write this - I am still crying with laughter!!!
That was the best entertainment on TV in a long time. So many things to remember - all of it classic from the infamous stick blender, the get up at Harvey's, that laugh, the wit to that flaming smoke alarm!!!
Just pure magic and well done Jonathan
- that menu looked stunning and so ambitious too. I would hate to cook for such a food critic as him!!
Off to watch it all over again!

Well that was fab -all four came across really well -if Jonathan was looking to show he was more than the guy on x factor he did that tonight for sure -came across as endearing, funny and genuine i'd say thats a good result
.
Jonathan and Harvey deserving winners -loved their food ...
I'm surprised at how much channel 4 managed to cram into one hour -very impressive and all great fun ...this primetime CDWM is going to be a real success for channel 4 I think.
Jonathan so should do celebrity masterchef -he really seems to enjoy his cooking and the ability is there -he'd do well I think.Heres hopeing he gets the chance one of these days
.

I have finally calmed down a little but I am still chuckling to myself. Such great entertainment!! Jonathan is such a natural in the kitchen and such a perfectionist!
His menu looked delicious too

Jonathan Ansell's menu
Date Published: 09/04/2008
These wannabe hosts with the most are more used to being served than serving up. But for one week only, they've been getting their hands dirty in the kitchen in the battle to scoop the £1000 prize for their favourite charity
Being host on the opening night could be fraught with pitfalls, but singer Jonathan resolves to make it a memorable success.
Pulling on his apron and pulling out the stops, Jonathan promptly sets off the smoke alarm. And forcing guests to sing for their supper when he forgets the cutlery compounds his woes. Will his charisma and flair in the kitchen be enough to win the day?
Jonathan aims high with an eclectic menu that includes a meat-free option for his vegetarian guest. How does arch-rival MC Harvey react to Jonathan's smooth operation?
Starter
Goat's cheese brochette with tomato and onion salsa
Main Course
Tea smoked fillet of duck
or
Parmesan-crusted stuffed pepper with roasted cherry tomatoes, feta and garlic
Dessert
Chocolate torte with raspberries under a sugar nest
He seems so happy in the kitchen too. His personality shone through and was a pleasure to watch.

Well, what a show that was.........sheer crying with laughter from start to finish
I started when Jonathan said about his stick blender being broken (memories of first RSC appearance) and then never stopped
He certainly does make a mess of the kitchen, but it all came OK in the end though and his meal looked first class. The 'entertainment factor' was certainly there in abundance and MC Harvey was hilarious too - Tamara was geeting there and Lynsey just didn't get it most of the time I thought !
On the whole a great night's entertainment, but shame it wasn't an hour to each star, although they did manage to cram in a lot ............. mind you a whole hour of Jonathan after last night, I would be sectioned for being a bit looney with all the laughing I would do at his antics !!!
Well done to Jonathan and all the others, but especially Jonathan for showing what a true star he is and showing a whole complete 'other side' to himself to the public
Can't wait to see RSC now !

Last nights show was classic!
Hubby and daughter watched it with me and we were all crying laughing at some points!
The stick blender started me off too. What is it with Jonathan and stick blenders!
He was so funny - and the mess in that kitchen!!! But the meal he produced looked delicious and all the others seemed to love it.
When he was laughing in the car - it was so infectious - we were all hysterical.
The four celebrities worked really well together - you would never have thought it on paper - but Jonathan and MC Harvey were a great double act!
Jonathan came across as the fun loving guy we all know he is - and he always "says it as it is" - which I love - no airs and graces and pretence - he says what he thinks and even when he's putting his foot in it - he manages to do it in an endearing and loveable way. So much part of his charm and likeability!
Great show - I shall watch it over and over!
Love Molly xx

That taxi shot has been in my mind all day and have been giggling at very odd moments - think folk though I was going mad
So I am glad I have finally got home so I can watch it again.
I agree with you Molly those two men make a great double act!! Jonathan is so down to earth and natural, the furthest thing you can get from a lot of these 'celebrities' today. You get what you see and more importantly, what you hear.
Keep these type of appearances coming Jonathan along with the live performances and you can't go far wrong!!

Just played my tape again , Ive decided that Jonathan and Harvey should set up a double act ,they were so funny trying to outdo one another, and Harveys remark that if he lost to someone who used to be in G4 it would ruin his street cred, and they were both thrilled to get first place ,and so two charitys benifited ,

Well I did miss the 'live' showing of this...but my VCR didn't disappoint me THIS TIME. Loved it from the start and as for Jon and his culinary skills in the kitchen...it's improved a lot (well away from his early days on RSC in 2005).
Darn that 'stick blender' though, his relationship with this garget will follow him around for centuries to come!!
Loving his 'other' relationship with rapper MC Harvey, I agree they hit it off from the start, and eventually MC (and Jon too
) were able to take on board any 'ribbing' they gave one another, despite the difference between them both!! LDP took a real shine to our Jon and his cooking (despite the downgrading of the scores) and both tamara and MC thought his starter and main course was good also!! (hence the joint win)!!
Well done Jon, you did the business and on your birthday too......bless. Hope there's many more primetime shows for you..can't wait for RSC in May now!!
