I have heard from two of the members of Blake today who are still working hard to get votes for the album to win a Classical Brit. In a message to fans on facebook, Stephen said,"I promise that by midnight on Friday, you will never get another message about the Classical Brits from me, but before then, vote like crazy!
I'm not sleeping at night, I'm barely eating, all I can think and speak about, is the Brit Awards. Please help us win, and rid me of this illness
Huge thanks to everyone, specially those amazing people that have stood up in their offices and shouted the voting details to workmates!
Gone Brit-mad,
Stephen."
To help cure Stephen's insomnia and Brit illness, please go to www.classicalbrits.co.uk before 2359hrs on 11th April and cast your vote. |

I forgot to mention, but I spoke to Jules earlier today and he was telling me about the Classical Brits Launch last night. It sounded like a wonderful evening with lots of our favourite artists turning out for the occasion. He told me that to celebrate Hayley Westenra's Birthday, the guys from Blake sang Happy Birthday to her and she was presented with a huge cake.
Jules and the other Blake guys, are all incredibly excited about their Brit nomination.Speaking to Jules earlier, it was hard not to get caught up in all his excitement, it was quite infectious. I got the impression that it really would mean a lot to them to win, not just in terms of recognition, or their career, but also on a personal level too.
They are also very excited about their forthcoming album release and visit to Japan and sharing their music with new audiences. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from them about this in the future. In the meantime, they are grateful to all their fans who have voted for them so far - let's see if they get to take home that Brit on the night!! |

It sounds so exciting! I can't imagine what the boys must be going through at this moment - by the sounds of it, they're pacing the floor lol Bless them. I think I'd be doing the same.
I've invited EVERY SINGLE friend on facebook to the classical brits group, and gave them the web address. So far only 7 of them have joined the group! Will have to send out another reminder tomorrow! x _________________ 'A life in music is a life beautifully spent.' (Pavarotti) |

You only have to look at the their various facebook pages to see how they are feeling. Even amongst all the excitement and nerves though, they still have that cheeky sense of humour. In a way I shall be sorry when the voting closes as the messages coming through from them asking for votes are getting funnier and funnier.
Oh well, one more day and it will all be over....then the wait begins! |

Today is the last day to cast your vote for Blake to win the Brit.
Go to www.classicalbrits.co.uk/voting and cast your vote.
I've just heard a great idea from Stephen - I think he mentioned it on one of his facebook messages but it sounds like it's been very effective. People have been standing up in their offices and shouting to get their colleagues attention, then telling them all to log onto www.classicalbrits.co.uk and vote for BLAKE.
I think this is a great fun idea (as long as your boss doesn't mind) and a good way to get lots of votes in one easy go. I wonder what other ideas people had to get votes cast. |

All male group Blake wins NSI album of year for their self-titled debut. The lads met almost a year ago today, and collected their award on the anniversary of that auspicious coming together. They dedicated their award to the voting public.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the most hotly contested awards of the evening, the NS&I Album of the Year, which was sensationally won by Paul McCartney in 2007, was awarded to the eponymous debut album by vocal quartet Blake: formed just 12 months ago. This is only the second time in the history of the Classical BRIT Awards that the NS&I Album of the year has been won by a debut album; the last time was Russell Watson in 2001 for ‘The Voice’. Blake, who formed via Facebook in Summer 2007 and went on to hit the Number 1 spot of the classical album chart and made the top 20 of the pop charts, join a very exclusive list of artists who have previously won the award and are now the biggest selling artists of the genre. The only previous winners are Andrea Bocelli, Russell Watson, Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins and Paul McCartney. The NS&I Album of the Year is voted for by Classic FM listeners and readers of Classic FM magazine and is compiled from a list of the Top 10 selling classical albums of the past year.

Congratulations Blake on a well deserved win!! And what a day to collect your prize! |

We were delighted that Blake won the NSI album award - well done to them. They all looked very smart in their dark suits and ties! _ and were so positive towards the waiting crowds afterwards, happily signing autographs and chatting to fans before heading off to the post awards party.
