David's marvellous CD "Virtuoso" is now released in the UK

There are 2 extra tracks that were not on the German or Far Eastern version and 2 extra extra tracks if you download from 7Digital (but it did crash my system !)

Enjoy

Can all of us on this board wish David every success in the UK and hope that he will bring the Virtuoso tour over to us as well

I found myself in a record shop this morning and me being an impatient person decided to buy it there and then instead of waiting for it to be delivered!! Rolling Eyes

I have now listened to it a couple of times and it is not at all how I imagined. I know this was aimed at the crossover side of things but it is a lot more 'rocky' than I expected.

Loving the tracks that I have heard him play live and a couple of the others too but I feel slightly disappointed in the rest. This may of course change as I get to hear it more and I cannot fault his performance but it has slightly taken me aback.

I think I may have used the wrong word in my review. Disappointed is not totally true. I was expecting more of the same type of thing that I heard him play at the Hard Rock Cafe and of course it isn't. He does have a wide variety of styles and music on this album which can only be a good thing as there will be something for everyone on it. It was just a bit of a shock which is silly really as I had no idea what to expect from this album. Yes, I know I have just contradicted myself there but you get my drift?!! Laughing Laughing I purposely bought it 'blind' so I could not form an opinion or know what to expect before I heard it. (think I'll shut up now!!)

I would also like to hear what others think of this album. Smile

Personally I love the variety and the range on the CD
I was certainly not at all disappointed. I had heard him play in classical concerts and to be fair, some of the performances (such as the Czardas) work better for me with an orchestra

But for sheer versatility and lyricism he cannot be beaten.

My favourites are the beautifully gentle and emotional ones, such as La Califfa, Nothing Else Matters, Canon - and the flashy, fast ones such as Zorba.

This CD grows on you - give him a chance

Hi there,

I am from germany, so I knew the most stuff on this album. Except "Somewhere" and "Czardas" (the UK Bonus "Czardas" is the original one on the german version) are different versions on the UK album (bought it originally of course) and the 2 additions "Canon" and "You raise me up" - which aren't on the german "Virtuoso".
(at 7Digital is another Bonus Track Zorbas Dance "Zorba the Greek")

I love the different styles and plays on his album (no matter which version), from pure classical arrangements (Paganini & Co) until Rock& Pop (Nothing else matters).

"Zorbas" I like very much, it's fun, because he played it at the german concerts last week and everyone clapped and danced to this track!
"Somewhere" - I love more now the UK Version of it with piano and orchester in the background, it's very emotional!
"Canon" - Is one of my favorite classical pieces since years. I love the arrangement of David very much, the special violin part in it! Good work!
"You raise me up" - I knew this track from the duett with Lene Siel and expected that this one would be a great instrumental thingy. Also very good!

From the german version my favorites were "Serenade" (love his own pieces very much!), La Califfa and so on. Changed now to "Canon", "Somewhere" and "Toccata" (last because of the live experiences last week).

But at all, this album (UK Version now) is running here for me again and again. Im a bit surprised about the different UK Version but love it very much! Well done !
Will advise this album to everyone who likes classical and cross over, and of course - Violin!

Just my point of view Wink

Regards,
Someone

I downloaded the bonus track of Czardas (Galas mix) only to find it was the same one as I had on both Free (the Asian CD) and Virtuoso (German version).

The new track is the sensational "Czardas - Gypsy Dance" which is taken faster than usual and without the additional instrumental and tempo changes.

If you have assumed you already have it, don't make the same mistake I have - it has taken me 3 days to find out.

The CD is sensational and congratulations David on your instant success in the UK. Hope it continues

Davids album, Virtuso, has gone straight in at number 17 in the UK charts! David has a special message for everyone who bought the album:

'After the success in other parts of the world, I'm so thrilled to be in the UK top 20, and to now have an audience in the UK. A big thank you to all my fans in the UK who've supported me and bought the record - glad you like it! What is really exciting is how young people have responded to me and the record.

This was always my passion - to bring classical music to a new, and young audience. We know that everyone loves great tunes - and that is what the album is about.

This is just the start.

Now I can't wait to play more concerts in the UK, which we can now plan for later in the year. Hopefully see you all then!'

Congratulations, David, on hanging on to the number 2 spot in the Classic FM charts this week.

A pity you didnt quite make it to number one, but this is still one hell of an achievement.

Looking forward to a Virtuoso tour in the UK now......
