If I remember rightly Paul Gambaccini ,was excellent when g4 were on there ,he was quite taken with them,it will be interesting to see what he has to say about Jonathan going solo, looking forward to this. Very Happy

Yes it was very poignant on the show that G4 did when Paul G talked about this lone singer in Covent Garden - and he heard the voice from inside the shop he was in and went outside to investigate. But by the time he got there the singer had gone and there was just a card left there saying G4. I guess that was one of the times that Jonathan went alone to sing.

FNIMN are such great shows - I love them - nothing better than to lie back on your settee and listen to the lovely orchestra and of course this time - the fabulous Jonathan!

The first time I saw Jonathan he was busking alone-he was so good I couldn't tear myself away, and almost missed my train. Then I saw him again with Mike, and couldn't believe how good it sounded When G4 first auditioned on the X Factor, the TV was on but I had my back to it as I was looking for something-soon turned around when I heard that voice, and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Busking was soon mentioned so I knew it was him Very Happy and the rest is history Very Happy I loved hearing Paul tell that story, I knew just how he felt!! Can't wait to hear this show-I'm working till 7 that night, so will have to speed home to catch the start Smile

How interesting Suz , that you saw Jonathan and Mike busking, and that you knew it was him on the TV ,its strange isent it that , no matter where you are, you hear that voice and you know straight away that it is Jonathan,

That's really interesting Suz that you saw Jon and Mike busking.

One of my friends from a Gareth Gates site told me that she was on her way to a Gareth concert and she and her daughter came across a group singing in Covent Garden - they were so good that they stopped a while to listen to them sing and then put £5 in their box.

Yes - they turned out to be G4!

When she found out I was a fan - she told me about it.

It must be great to have heard them like that before it all took off.

Marian - Im wishing my life away to get to all the Jonathan appearances - March has gone by under my nose!

I used to frequent Covent Garden quite regularly around the time Jonathan would have been busking with Mike and later with the others and I vaguely remember a male group singing. I presumed later it must have been them but I was in a rush and didn't take the time to listen properly. Their voices rang out above the crowds. Oh how I wished I had stopped!!

It was about the same time I heard 2 girls doing the same thing and they turned out to be the Opera Babes. They were also brilliant.
