This is a great idea and means that people can sample some of the work of new artists out there before they go and buy their album. You may buy this CD because you already like one of the artists featured, but in doing some may be introduced to another artist you may not have previously considered. Smile
I'd be interested to hear what people think of this CD - not just of the artists they are primarily buying it for, but of the other tracks on the CD too. Smile

The thing that intrigues me is that it is a ClassicFM Presents album with UCJ - didn't this use to be a SonyBMG imprint when they launched Alfie Boe? But I would like to understand the logic of a 5 track EP?

Anyway if the new classical artists are going to be actually promoted by CFM that can be nothing but good Smile as I hardly ever hear any of the new classical artists or even those who manage to get into the charts which I find most peculiar

Good post xantha! I am primarily buying this to hear David Garrett. I was lucky enough to hear him play live a couple of weeks back and was very impressed so I would love to hear him on CD and if I like it as much as I did live, then I will certainly be buying his CD. I am also looking forward to hearing the other artists as I have heard very little of them but again have seen Hayley live a few years ago and would be interested in hearing her nowadays.

A great concept I feel and a good way of being introduced to other new artists.

Have pre-ordered Smile -this is a great way to promote young classical artists and I so hope this ep does well for classic fm and universal.Smile

I'm buying mainly for the Jonathan,Hayley and David tracks ...but it's great for all five artists and can only help the classical crossover genre Smile.

I have pre ordered the ep , and I am also buying it for David and Hayley.
as well as Jonathan of course,
I had not heard of David ,until he collaborated ,on Jonathans new Album,
and Hayley I loved her singing The Romeo and Juliet Theme ,with Jonathan, I think that this ep will do very well, it gives you a chance to listen to various artists ,and you can then decide if you want to buy their Albums, Smile

I am buying this EP to support Jonathan Ansell and also the other artists on there too and especially Hayley Westenra - and also to support the initiative by UCJ/CFM etc to promote new young artists - who hopefully will be part of the future for Classical music.

I'm also very interested in hearing Will Martin.

As Dilog says - listening into the actual CFM Radio shows - there appears to be very little coverage of the classical/crossover type artist - although the online site, magazine and tv channel give them excellent coverage. And its really good to see CFM supporting this EP.

I'll certainly do a review after listening to the CD. And I hope it will introduce all 5 artists to people who might want to hear more and go out and buy their individual albums too.

The EP is on HMV online at a lower cost of £2.99 and no postage! I am guessing that Amazon might lower their price nearer the release date and hopefully places like Woolworths might stock it at the lower price?

Love Molly xx Smile

Brilliant! It looks like a really good album. I've just entered the competition, but even if I don't win it, I'll still probably get the album. x
