|
|
Monday 21 April 2008, 1pm
Crush Room, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
Nicholas Garrett, Narrator
Daniel Grice, Bass Baritone
Mark Packwood, Piano
Members of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and Music Staff perform song cycles by Ullmann and Poulenc, as well as Ullman’s monologue, Die Weise von Liebe und Tod for speaker and piano.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the lunchtime concerts are FREE. A proportion of tickets can be reserved online 10 days before the concert date. These must be collected from the Royal Opera House Box Office by 12.40pm on the day of the performance, after which they will be released.
The remaining tickets will be available at the Royal Opera House Box Office from 10 am on the morning of the recital. Please note that Crush Room recitals are limited to 160 tickets so please collect early to avoid disappointment.
As these are free events attracting significant interest, ticket holders may lose their seats if not present at the beginning of the concert.
Concert starts at 1pm and lasts approx 1 hour.
Please note that Nick will not be singing in this recital, just narrating. However, anyone who has heard him narrate on the Enoch Arden CD will know just how wonderfully expressive his voice is.

I'd love to go this, but unfortunately I'll be handing my final research dissertation and essay at that time! x _________________ 'A life in music is a life beautifully spent.' (Pavarotti) |

| I think these lunchtime recitals are great for anyone in the London area, especially as they are free. If you are a Nick fan, I would highly recommend going as even though he isn't singing I'm sure he will do an amazing job as narrator as he is so expressive. |

Ooh. I wonder if they recite in German too...
very interesting - Victor Ulman was a soldier in WWI who ended up in Theresienstadt Concentration Camp.
He also wrote the Opera "The Emporor of Atlantis" while there. _________________ Music Speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it Rest, Heals the Heart and makes it whole - Flows from the heavens to the Soul! |

Nick is a wonderful Narrator, I just love the way he Narrated Enoch Arden. I agree with Xantra, anyone in the area, please stop by... you will be quite pleased that you did. |
