Great to see so many positive reviews for Jonathan's album.

Well, when he sings a capella in the Radio Studios on the Radio Tour - you get the full extent of what he is capable of as not many artistes can sing a song 'off the cuff' like that and get away with it !!
Wink Very Happy

My album came! Good old Amazon! I'm on the third listen - blasting out all over the house!

What can I say - it seems like we have waited ages for this but it is oh so worth the wait!

I've sobbed my way through it this morning - so touching to see Jonathans face on there with his name in big type and know that this has been his life long dream to bring out a solo album! And now its happened for him - he must be overwhelmed today.

And then I read the thankyous at the back and that started me off all over again!

It's a fabulous album! Jonathan's voice is so beautiful and every song brings out a different facet of it - and the emotion he puts into his voice and the songs is tangible.

The orchestraton is really beautiful and the duets with Hayley Westenra and All Angels are gorgeous and the violin playing by David Garrett is superb.

It's going to take an awful lot of plays before I can even get near choosing favourites - there is not one song that I dont like - they are all brilliant.

Well done Jonathan - you should be very very proud!

Was reading the Thank You's to my friend in Middlesex (I'm in Scotland) over the phone at 00.10am this morning after I got the album from Asda !!!
We were both in bits

It is a truly AMAZING album, but one has to remember that Jonathan is only 25 (26 shortly) and his voice, as such, hasn't 'matured' yet, so, on listening to this album and how good it is - makes you wonder what he will be like in a few years' time !!!!! Shocked Wink

So well put together and Jonathan just oozes passion, emotion and feeling into each song, as only he can do and makes you feel - rwally so hard to describe - as if he's singing personally to you, I think I am trying to say, and you feel each emotion for each song as he sings it - his voice reaches into your soul and tugs at your heart.

Well done Jonathan and your team - an album to be soooo proud of and I'm sure it will go a long way Very Happy - you've worked hard over the years for this Jonathan and I wish you all the Good Luck in the world with it Wink

Review:

I’ve listened to the album about 20 times now! These are my initial first impressions – I know that my favourites will change constantly I’m sure – so will be back with a later review and again and again I expect! The overall feel of the album is just beautiful with the lovely production and orchestration.

Heres to the Heroes:

Ever since I first heard the music for Dances with Wolves I have loved it so much. Jonathan’s beautiful emotional voice totally enhances the melody and I think it is the perfect track for a lead off track – it has everything to draw people in. Beautiful music, emotional lyrics, and a build up through the song, culminating in the money note at the end. Superb.

Now We are Free:

Wonderful to hear the lower ranges of Jonathans voice – the music and vocals rise and fall and sweep over one in a beautiful way. And I find the song very very moving.

Parla Piu Piano

Gorgeous – emotive, evocative, I feel like I’m in Sicily lying under the shade of a tree in the heat of the day – letting the music wash over me. All enhanced by the beautiful violin playing on the track.

Race to the End:

This is the only song on the album that I don’t quite connect with. The music is beautiful, the lyrics are lovely, Jonathans voice is gorgeous – but the whole doesn’t quite do it for me. I think it’s because maybe the music was written to convey that constant running and on- going feel and I feel the song wants to go somewhere and it just cant.

Un Giorno Per Noi:

Simply beautiful. It feels like two lovers caught up in the emotion. I adore the bit where Jonathan is singing and you can hear Hayley coming in behind with her high voice – gives me the shivers! Their voices blend so wonderfully well together. A definite highlight on the album. So looking forward to hearing it live on This Morning and the Classical Brits.

Vois Sur Ton Chemin:

Fabulous song! The reviewers were right. I love the way Jonathan sings on this. His vocals are a sheer delight. I love the way the music dances along like little sparkles of sunlight dappling the leaves – and the lovely voices of All Angels add to the beauty of it all. Wonderful track.

My Own True Love:

Again a piece of music that I have always loved. I adore Jonathans vocals on this one he brings out every single ounce of romance and feeling and emotion and it’s truly beautiful and one of my huge favourites on the album. When he sings “know you by your kiss”…spine tingling and the very last note is ……….divine!

Down in the River to Pray:

A definite in my list of favourites! Absolutely love it!Love the purity of it. No music just the voices – love the spiritual sound – love Jonathans voice – love the way he sings “show me the way” on the first verse and later when he sings it again on his own – almost with a cry in his voice – shivers, shivers, shivers on this one! I have a dream of seeing it performed on stage – a gospel choir behind swaying slightly – Jonathan to the fore –and that glorious sound!
Se:

So very beautiful. Such pathos – such glorious music - such feeling in Jonathans voice – another huge favourite of mine. When he sings “amore” …. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous sound!

Prayer in the Night:

Again – so beautiful. The music is glorious, Jonathans voice is fabulous – and the whole song is a sheer joy to listen to. I think on this song as with Se and Si un Jour and the gorgeous Che Gelida Manina – Jonathan is at his classical best – and I’m loving all four!

Si un Jour:

As I said above - the feeling I get from this song is Jonathan at his classical best – the music is wonderful – I loved the two films – even with subtitles they were excellent. And Jonathan sings this with such feeling - I love this song so much.

Che Gelida Manina

What can I say. I still cannot listen to this song without the tears running down my face. I don’t know much about La Boheme – I know nothing about the movie Moonstruck – I’ve never been to an opera – I only know that when I listen to this – I get a feeling of great sadness inside and the tears just flow. The music is so so so touching and poigniant and Jonathans voice….I cant find the right words but he touches my very heart and soul – and when he sings those last few bars – I just feel so sad inside but I want to keep playing it over and over and over. It says "Jonathan" to me.

Love Molly xx

Molly, you must see Moonstruck! Been few years since I seen but I think che gelida manina is the song that makes chers character fall in love with opera when nicholas cage's character takes her to opera for first time! She cries while watching La Boheme. I love it!

Thanks Anima - I will try to get hold of the film. Smile

I want to try and watch as many of the films from the album as I can so I can get an even better sense of how the songs fit into the films.
