| It's often been discussed in different threads that there seems to be a certain disparity of the lead vocals. Since I have never had the chance to SEE G4 sing - not in concert, not on TV or DVD - I have no idea which voice belongs to which guy. So what I'd like to know is, if there are songs on their two albums in which Jon is NOT in the lead and if so, who's doing the lead vocals instead. Hope, someone can help me there. |

| That's a tough question there, Nadine! Jon does most of the leads as you mention, and I've only heard the first album and I don't think there's any songs where Jon is not hte lead! He's got a distinctive voice as well! |

| ........Jon takes the lead on all the pop songs on both their albums with the others mainly providing backing on the chorus and the occasional couple of lines (Matt sang a couple of lines on When a Child is Born), but on the classical tracks it is much more the collective voices of G4 and which I prefer to be honest, because Mike and Matt have superb baritone voices. I think Sony need to recognise all the boys have great voices and to let the others take the lead more on the next album. |

Hi Nadine
One of the songs that I really really enjoyed listening to over Christmas was their version of White Christmas. Matt took the lead and Jon when he joined in sang high over the top but still keeping Matt as the lead voice and it was fabulous!. Definitely the way to go I think if Sony would only see it!
I love Jon's voice with a passion but I do love to hear the other boys voices too and as Penny said on the classical tracks there is much more of the four part harmonies which is lovely.
There is a lot of Jon and Ben together in the songs on the second album where Ben provides the high harmony beautifully and Mike and Matt provide fabulous lower harmonies and the overall sound is just beautiful but with all of them having such lovely voices I'm hoping that in the future Sony will see the even greater potential for using the other voices in leads or part leads more.
Love Molly xx |

Thank you girls for your answers.
I'd bet Sony is perfectly aware of the singing abilities of all guys. But after all, Jon is - compared to the others - more marketable, I guess. And that's what it's all about! |
