New Diary Message from Natasha

Well, I've just got back from an exciting promotion tour to Japan.
It was my first trip there and it was quite an experience!

We crammed in an incredible amount in one week from video shoots to showcases and interviews!

We carried suitcases of beautiful designer dresses out there and they seemed to go down a treat for all the shoots!

I had the opportunity of singing with the famous Japanese violinist, Iwao. We recorded a special track based on a well-known Japanese melody for TV and a new video.

We were looked after incredibly well and had some wonderful sushi!

I've just about recovered from the jet lag now and I'm off to Oman next week for a concert.

See you soon,
Tasha x

Hi Everyone

I've just got back from Finland from performing on some TV shows and giving interviews. It was freezing! I performed with a
Finnish group called Virtuoso and we filmed O'Holy Night for a well known Christmas show.
I wore a beautiful white dress and hid under the warmth of my coat until the crew were ready to start shooting!
Luckily, the caterers had filled my dressing room with chocolate so none of the team were short of it!

I spent last week touring around the country meeting all the children that will be performing with me on my cathedral tour. I gave
each school a workshop, showed them some dressesa and played them some short DVD clips. It seemed to go down really well. I had lots of
youngsters telling me they wanted to become opera singers too which was wonderful to hear!

Next week I'm back in the studio and rehearsing for the Christmas tour.

Hope to see you soon

Love Tasha x

I've had a great break spending time with family and friends. Lots of eating, long walks, log fires and nattering!

I'm very much looking forward to being Paul Potts' guest on his UK tour across the country this month. I'll be singing some new songs from my next album and also enjoying a duet with Paul. I'm back in the studio recording this week and working with some exciting talent over the next couple of months with a few concerts along the way so there's lots to enjoy!

Well I shall not forget my 7 hour taxi journey in a rush

With the terrible winds up in Scotland, I soon found out that my aeroplane to Aberdeen had been delayed. I could barely walk into the airport with my 2 suitcases as the winds were so strong.

The passengers all waited at the gate to find out our plight only to discover the flight had finally been cancelled. I frantically rang my manager to make plans for rushing to the train station but discovered that we had missed the last one. I knew I had missed my soundcheck up in Aberdeen but I figured I could make it up for 6ish if I grabbed a taxi.

I ran over to the ever increasing taxi queue and booked the most expensive taxi journey of my life £330 from Harrogate to Aberdeen! I had to argue to get the price down to that. Once I had recovered my luggage - I rushed outside and got into a local taxi. The taxi driver said 'Sounds like I've drawn the short straw here.' I had no idea how bad the winds were until an hour into the journey. The car was thrown all over the place and I kept thinking we may take off. The poor drivers knuckles were white from steering the wheel. we didn't stop the whole way there - other than to grab a map from the boot of his car because he wasn't sure how to work his Sat Nav.

I knew that hundreds of people were waiting in the theatre up in Aberdeen. The tour manager kept texting me for updates. The battery on my phone was practically dead. I frantically tried to put my make up on in darkness whilst the car jolted backwards and forwards. The driver didn't want to stop and he knew the pressure he was under.

As the car sped round the corner of the music hall, the wardrobe girl was poised ready with my dress for me to step into and out on stage. I ran out of the car, put on my dress and ran to the wings. I saw Paul on stage see me there and look relieved as he ad libbed away to the audience!

He was lovely and said afterwards that my delay had made for his best show yet!

I walked onstage and told the audience I hadn't had the chance to go to the toilet for 9 hours! They all fell about laughing!

The show had started over half an hour late. Thank goodness we ended up having a great show and I still can't believe that I actually made it!

Tour reflections

Well I've just returned from the UK leg of the Paul Potts tour. I had a great time performing up and down the country. The team was small, so we all got to know each other well which was great. I often shared the tour bus with Paul and his wife Julz who were a good giggle. We spent many an hour killing time on the bus playing games! I'll look forward to joining them again in the spring...

I'm back in the studio this week but first Ive got the Wembley Carling Cup final to sing at on Sunday. Bet it's quite an experience! There's been lots of press speculation about which football team I support - I am officially a Watford Football Club girl through and through! My Dad would kill me if I sent anywhere else!

I've had do many lovely notes from you all after this last tour. Thank you so much for your support!

7th March 2008
Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready to jump in the studio and begin recording some new songs. I've been regularly keeping in contact with the Paul Potts team out in the US, and they've been sending me photos and messages. I really miss them all and am looking forward to joining them again in Scandinavia for more fun and concerts... I'm planning to smuggle in some Cadbury's chocolate for Paul and Julz!

I'm very excited as I've just heard I have been nominated for a Classical Brit award. If you get the chance, please support me by voting here: http://www.classicalbrits.co.uk/nominations/

Thanks for all your support!

Love,
Tasha x

15 March

Last night I performed at ’The Feast of Albion’ along with Annie Lennox. It was a celebration of all things British in aid of the Soil Association, with the support of Prince Charles. When I stepped out on stage, I couldn’t believe the familiar faces I recognised! In the audience were sat Mick Jagger, Jemima Kahn, Zac Goldsmith, Richard E Grant, Jonathan Dimbleby, Chris Martin, Jamie Cullum and the list goes on and go!

I also had the opportunity of meeting Annie Lennox and Roger Taylor from Queen who were both very lovely and down to earth .

Look out for my Songs of Praise performance on the 23rd March!

Love Tasha x
