i'm really glad for them... this album deserved this a lot!
has anyone noticed there's a bonus track from the UK iTunes version of their album? it's called All For Love (that one from the The Three Musketeers sung by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting) and it's just BEAUTIFUL. i got really amazed and can't stop listening to it... _________________

If you listened to the ClassicFm chart show today, you will know that Blake are still No1 - Congratulations guys
They've managed to stay in the top 40 in the pop charts too but I know they are hoping to improve on their position there - let's hope they do too! |

The album has slipped down a place in this week's Classical Chart to No2 I'm sure that could all change again though as I know many of you are buying the album for Christmas presents.
Good news though, which I heard from the guys just yesterday is that the album has gone Gold!!
Congratulations to Stephen, Jules, Dom and Ollie on a fantastic achievement! |

And in connected news....Pazo Print, the Walsall based company that designed the special presentation case for Blake's CD has been shortlisted for a top award in recognition for their work.
Speaking from Pazos works in Walsall about the short-listing, Simon Griffiths said 'This nomination is in particular for our production of Blake's Book a special CD presentation case the debut album of the vocal group 'Blake'. The CD case is highly crafted and like an old leather bound book, the theme of 'Blake's website. We really enjoyed the challenge.
The CD 'Blake', is by an exciting new vocal group producing a unique sound bridging classical and pop music They recently starred in the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall with their breathtaking version 'Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong'. Blake were 'discovered' on the social networking site Facebook by former Blue manager Daniel Glatman who secured them a 5 album deal with Universal.

The album is very nice, I am in particular drawn to In Paradisum. In that version all I hear is the wonderful bass. Worthy of a Willard White compare for sure.
The harmony of these boys is incredible and something they obviously work on. It certainly works for them. _________________ Music Speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it Rest, Heals the Heart and makes it whole - Flows from the heavens to the Soul! |

Right now I keep listening to Hallelujah, it's so lovely. Not sure who sings the lyrics "Love is not a victory march It's a cold & it's a broken Hallelujah" Which one is it Ollie or Dominic? Although all the guys have fantastic voices, that one verse is sung by an angel.
I have to confess though that I'm more attracted to Bass Baritone voices and Steven's voice in Paradisum & Swing Low really has me listening to him over the rest in those 2 songs, he has a wonderful Bass Bartione voice. |

I agree novice, I think the temptation would be too great for me! Mind you, Treasure will be able to boast that she woke up on Christmas morning and found Blake gift wrapped under her tree!! |

I think Treasure isn't the only one who has been bought Blake's album for Christmas this year. The album has just moved up the Classical Album Charts again by one place and is now 7th!
Stephen from Blake, posted the following message on the Blake Facebook page earlier today.....
"I've had about 12 messages from people on the Blake group, about the fact that the stock of albums and singles in HMV seems to have run out completely. Some stores have run out, but about 80% of stores do have limited stock of one or the other. Basically, try to find it where you can. Massive thanks to all that rushed out to get copies in the last few days - we actually moved up the charts at a time of year when that's very tough to do. Special thanks to those that went out and bought multiple copies - the sales assistants may have looked at you strangely, but it helped us hugely, thank you!
We've got loads of fun things booked for the new year, including something special to do with our Hallelujah track, so keep coming back to the group for updates.
Merry Christmas to everyone and see you soon,
Stephen. BLAKE. xxx" |

I know that Xcept has posted under the general section about the Biggest Selling Albums of the 21st Century, but I thought you might be interested to know that Blake came in at No 51!!
This is indeed an incredible result, especially when you consider that this survey takes in the years 2000-2007 and Blake only formed in the latter part of 2007. To see the full list CLICK HERE |
