Hi rainy

Libera have been around for ages, under different names, and are very well known. I am delighted they have been added here. Smile Smile

They usually have backed Aled on his CDs - if you have heard any of Aled's you are virtually bound to have heard Libera. If you look at the Aled quiz, you will see that they sang for him when he appeared on This Is Your Life, and also sang at his wedding. They are very well-known internationally also, havng toured overseas - like Aled was, they are very popular in Japan!

I've suggested to Todd, who runs the Aled Jones fanclub and also knows a lot about Libera that he posts here as he is much more knowledgeable about them than me - maybe he will.

What more info do you want? - If you go to the website - http://www.libera.org.uk/ and to the music section you can hear clips. If you want to hear them backing Aled, try some of the Aled Jones videos on YouTube - e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBz-DOSSCIc or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ--BAQTL2Y

Hope that helps

Hi rainy,

I think that xbons has given you the best lead there, with Libera's official website. If you take a look at it, you will find videos and music clips available which will give you a good idea of what Libera are all about. I personally first came across Libera, or as they were called then the St Philips Boys Choir, way back in the 1980s when they appeared on the BBC's Children in Need programme. They have just released their latest album called "Angel Voices", and it contains some of their most well known recordings, plus a few new ones. To me Libera are the best Boys Choir ever, and have their own unique sound which is unlike any other boys choir you may hear. It is mainly down to their founder and musical mastermind Robert Prizeman, who actually writes the music to fit a particular boys voice, and it is that which makes them so different.. If you have listened to Aled, you will most certainly have heard Libera backing him, but to me Libera are "stars" in their own right, and I would highly recommend you buy one of their albums. Please take a look at the official website you wont be disappointed, and if your interested, there is also a Fan site on Yahoo at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Angelvoices/ which has over 800 members.. We have just recently heard, that Libera will be making yet another tour over to the Far East next spring, where they are extremely popular.. This, if memory serves me correctly, will be their fourth tour over there.

Hope this helps..

Todd.

I forgot to mention, Libera will be on Songs of Praise on the 19th Nov 06.

Ooh yay! I'm so glad Libera have been added. I think they're amazing. Saw them singing live at an Aled concert once (my 1st Aled concert) and they sound like angels. They are the original angelic band and often have videos shown on Classic Fm Tv.

And they're SO CUTE! x

Why can't I rate Libera - I'm appalled they only have two out of five stars. They are so much better than that. Mind you even the top artist Il Divo only as a ranking of 3.62 so who are these people who are rating the artists so low?

They're not from the Simon Cowell gene pool are they? Shocked
