Alex D’s Horse of the Year Show Blog
Hello my name is Alex and I'm in Kindred Spirits. We were in the Woman magazine this week! It was really exciting as we went to our local shop to buy it and told the shopkeeper that we were inside it!
I have a sister called Gabriella and she is good at singing and I have learnt to sing from her always singing.
She is in Kindred Spirits too. I hope you like our songs. I sing on the beginning of In the Bleak
midwinter and then my friend Felix sings next. He is fantastic and I want to sing like him when I am bigger.
I am so excited to see my favourite group Coldplay on our myspace page. I want to be either Chris Martin or Robbie Williams when I grow up.
At the Horse of the Year show I liked looking at the horses. My Mum said that we were on the big screen up above the arena where we were singing. It was amazing! We saw some of the show and I liked the bit when the police horses jumped through the hoops of fire. When we had lunch we had a visit from the big cuddly horse and
I gave him a big hug. I wasn't a bit scared singing and I loved being on television.
I can't wait until the next time. Thank you to Nadia and everyone. |

My name is dennishay age 11years from south east London.
Being part of the kindred spirit choir is so far one of the best things i have been involved in, it is just the begining in of something spacial in my life.
Performing our first concert the other day was exciting i had butterfly's but when we got into it i felt at ease. It was so amazing having to perform in front of hundreds of people, i am very Lucky to be part of a choir who are tipped to be no1 for Christmas that would be a nice present may i quote. Team work makes the dream work |

My Work with the ENO
This was probably one of the most daunting challenges I have had to face in my musical career. I was ecstatic when I got the phone call saying that I had got in to the final production of Nicholas Hytner's masterpiece 'The Magic Flute'. What made most nervous was that I had to perform a major role with some of the most brilliant singers I had seen and the pleasure to work with. I was one of the three boys and the other two next to me were also incredibly talented and worked so hard which made me work hard as well. We all had performed together before as well so that made things easier. I absolutely loved performing at the Coliseum, it was a once, (or in my case, quite a few times) in a lifetime opportunity. However it did become quite heavy on my schedule with late nights (I did not come home till 11pm on weekdays) on schooldays as well as loads of other stuff like KS, which was a great experience which I loved and hope will continue long into the future.
Thanks for reading

I am so excited about all the press releases. Its really cool seeing our choir on the front of magazines. There's loads of magazines that KS features in coming up soon so look out for them. I think it's even more exciting as Christmas, halloween and bonfire night are just around the corner. It would be a fantastic present if we were Christmas number 1.

Every year when I watch the Horse of the Year Show on TV I dream of going there. On 7th October my dream came true but not only did I go and see it I sang in it!!!!!!
It was amazing. My two favourite hobbies; horses and singing!
We got on the coach in London and drove to Birmingham. On the way up we watched High School Musical.
When we arrived Sky TV came to meet us and filmed us coming out of the coach and walking to our dressing room. But before we went to the dressing room we all noticed a carousel and asked if we could have a go.
It was really great and just what we needed to get us in a horsey mood!
When we had got into our clothes we went to have a look at some horses.
They were so beautiful and so big! After that we went to the arena to watch the pony club games.
They were amazing and they were only children competing. I wish I could ride that well! At the end six of us went out to go and meet the Pony Club and their horses. I was lucky enough to be one of them!
Kate, Patrick, Dennishay, Mohammed, Issy and I went on a golf buggy to the stables. We walked along the stable yard and saw loads of horses. We all fed them pony treats and a polo mint. Sky TV interviewed us with the horses and then we went back to a rehearsal. Then we went back and got ready for the opening of the Gala Night.
Performing the real thing wasn't actually that scary!!! You couldn't see anyone so it just felT like a rehearsal in the dark. When we all finished we were really excited and happy and I just loved it.
Just before we left we had a quick turn on the carousel and I am sure it was much faster than when we arrived!
Perhaps we were still buzzing it felt so fast!! Then we got on the coach to go home.
When we got home everyone was exausted!! I had one of the best days of my life!!!
Thanks to everyone who made this happen!!! IT WAS FAB!!!!!!!

After traveling on a coach for several hours we were all thrilled and excited to be greeted by a film crew who would film us throughout the day. As we collected our clothes we had a quick ride on the carousel which turned everyone's nerves into good energy. We spent the rest of the day being interviewed and shown around. We had a rehearsal before going on to do our final performance. Everyone was so nervous but as always we all stuck together and routed each other on in the KS way. The show was so fun and an amazing first performing experience. I am looking forward to many more. Thank you Nadia for making this happen. Love Jennax |

Horse of the Year Show last Sunday was our first concert in front of an audience and it was really nerve wracking. From the moment we arrived Sky were filming us getting out of the coach and then lots of other stuff we did. They filmed me with two of the others and that made me really nervous but I hope it was ok. We went on the carousel and they were filming us. We ran around the Arena a lot from our dressing rooms to other places where we were being filmed and then it was the big moment and we were out in the Arena in front of thousands of people!!!!! Felix and I do a lot of the solo bits on Fix you and we were both really nervous but he looked at me a bit and I looked at him and it felt better as we went on. It was brilliant and when we had finished it seemed too short really. The audience were really great and cheered us and clapped and it felt good that all that work had paid off and we were finally out there to see how they would like us. I hope they did and do like us. It felt like the beginning of something even though we have been working on it for a long time. When we came out we all had an enormous KS hug and that felt really fantastic, the KS family. Nadia and Carlene and the chaperones were really pleased and happy too. |

I absolutely love horses and I am crazy about riding them and looking after them. It's a shame that I live in London with my madness about the great outdoors but there are some perks like having a really fantastic choir a few streets away.
I am really thrilled to be in this choir and I have had a lot of fun making this cd . I adore singing and try to do as much of it as I possibly can. I love going to workshops to do with music like the one I went to recently with the Spanish Harlem orchestra. But back to what I was saying about the great outdoors. I really enjoy hard long walks like last winter when my parents and I walked around the Cornish coastal path which was great fun. I like mountain climbing even if the mountains I end up climbing are not very big. I also like going on adventure holidays which are really good fun and better if you go with your friends. I've learned so many new things such as abseiling, kayaking, caving, canoeing and mapmaking.
Another aspect of the great outdoors which I enjoy is climbing which is also quite easy to do in London as there are climbing centres as well as there being plenty of trees and playground obstacle courses. Like climbing, ice skating is something you can easily do in London. The best time for it is Christmas at Somerset House but hey it can be done in the summer as well. I have always enjoyed music and being in Kindred Spirits is great. I have made many new friends and I hope everyone in the choir has had as much fun as I have.
My favourite bands:
I have so many favourite bands so I have decided that I am going to write them all down in a list so I will never forget them.
• Mumm-ra
• Cajun dance party
• Maroon 5
• Bombay bicycle club
• Cold play
• The kooks
• The streets
• The Beatles
• The rolling stones
• Otis Redding
• The plain white T's
• Kaiser chiefs
• Scissors sisters
• The monkees
• Lily Allen
• Kate Nash
• The gorillas |

Felix’s Blog - 30 Oct
Last year I recorded a song with a french club band called 'Justice'. They are made up of two guys who DJ songs in french clubs. I got the audition through a singing teacher, a friend of Ron's, our choirmaster. She invited me to a studio with a group of other kids from different choirs and we all sang. Then Justice picked me to sing the solo on the single which is called 'D.A.N.C.E' and the single is coming out November 5th although it is already out on the album. Because I made it over a year ago and had no idea it was going to be released over here it is strange hearing myself singing 18 months ago as i sound so much younger. It was a fun thing to do in the studio but nowhere near as much fun as singing with KS in the studios when we made our album in the summer. |

we sang at the opening of the new Eurostar terminal this week with our big choir the NLCC, and lots of KS members. It was really exciting as the new trains are amazing and there wasd a light show as they drove into the station for the audience and the Queen to see. The station is really awesome. We sang with Lamarr who came up to see us afterwards and then gave us each a signed copy of his latest single. He was really nice to all of us. The Queen was there with Prince Philip and made a speech. It was a historic night and I will always remember I was there. It is only going to take 2 hours from there to. Paris with the new Bullit train from Japan which we saw. we sang a really cool Beatles medley with Lamarr and Katherine Jenkins. We had to pass through lots of security including sniffer dogs as the Queen was coming. We all had a great time but were very tired when we got on the coach to go home. Patrick, Anna, Jenna, Felix, Kate, Gabby, from KS were all there. |
